My Setup Images: Want Feedback from U

Hi Friends

I ve received several PMs for the images of my setup with Skystar2 PCI card and Dish with LNB. So now I'm putting here these images and also needs feedback and comments for the necessary correction (if required).

If you see the LNB hoder is little bent, and I'm now getting 80-85% signal quality coz I ve not properly aligned the dish. As I ve 100cm dish and 0.2dB LNB I should ve more than 95% signal quality

So any comments are welcome .....
(Also attached a snapshot of AajTak with progDVB)

Thanx

Thanks for the pictures.Looks gr8 for the aaj tak.

With a 100cm dish and 0.2dB LNB the rating shouldnt be 80-85.It has to be more than 95.I am getting a level/quality of 80/98 here in North Kerala with a local 60cm dish.I have observed a bent at the LNB fixing rod and perhaps this may be the prob as this may cause a deviated focus on LNB.Also try to align it sharply and also the skewing of the LNB.
Was it damaged during transit?
You can remove the frame and straighten it and refix it to observe for any difference.
The cost for the dish is Rs 1500/- as you told in the PM?
And you got a pen drive free with the package?

The PCI card and LNB were imported.
I am giving the details here from the PM of Pradhan below.

Hi Hareesh
Thank you again for ur PM
See, I ve not imported the STB ! Rather a ...
1. DVB-S PCI card - Technisat Skystar2 New Version 2.6D with USB IR reciver and remote and ($69USD)
2. Inverto WhiteTech 0.2dB Single Universal Ku-Band LNB ($15USD)
And the postal cost was $25USD from ***.satthaitv.com, Thailand. But its on the way and now laying at Mumbai Airport as it has not yet came to custom too. But I'm expecting it to be delivered by next week. And I ve already decided to buy an NUCLEUS Ku-Band dish of 100cm which will cost me approx Rs 1500/- * Pune.

Hareesh.

Hi Mr Rout Bhai

As per my research its not possible to get 0.2dB LNB in India now. If you want you can ask any of ur friend who has gone to abroad or you can also import from any of the reputed internet shops.

Thanx

Hi Hareesh
Thank you for ur feedback.
Ya, I am also not happy with the signal level as I'm in 54 EIRP region within India. It must have to be above 95% with 100cm dish. Ya, I'll try to fix the LNB holder as you directed. You are also r8 that the LNB holder was damaged during transport. Yes the cost of the dish is Rs 1500/-. But I did not get any PEN Drive as part of gift No problem I ve 3 pen drives of 1GB each :-O
Thank you each and every member here and wishing you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR 2OO7 ...

My System: DishTV Zenega CD1006, Airtel digital TV

Hi... Which all satellites/channels are you recieving with this setup? Also what made you buy NUCLEUS dish? I heard Apna DTH sells a KU/C combo dish package. Why didn't you go for it?

I'm also from Pune and have dishTV setup with a very small dish (I subscribed to dishTV back in 2004). Now that I've a cable connection, I'm using dishtv setup to try and track some satellites just for fun. I'm thinking of buying a bigger dish so that I can recieve some other satellites. Could you pls guide me on from where to buy a bigger dish. What all things I should consider before buying...

Thanks

Friend;
As per my research I was looking for SpaceLinkIndia dishes of min 100cm. But in Pune I did not have any option and I was forced to buy the 100cm NUCLEUS dish from Meltek Info Systems (as they had th ONLY stock). Ya, you can go for apnaDTH 120cm dish. I did not go for th coz I had to get it from Ahmedabad(Gujrat). Currently I'm only pointing to NSS6 and never tried other satellites as its tooooooooooo frustrating work to move the dish and to get a signal If you are visiting Delhi then buy the dish from SpaceLinkIndia.
Best parameter to evaluate a dish is to see its gain power and better go for offset dish.

Always USB devices are easy to use/install.
But they are not efficient as compared to their PCI counter part.
Specially, for a DVB-S device, we need high speed data transfer (may be more than 50-60 mbps), and here USB devices do not perform well as a PCI card will do.

A "high speed" USB device transfers data at 480 megabits per second

A Normal PCI BUS 2.0 Transfer 133MB/s

A PCI 2.2 BUS Transfer 533 MB/s

I think u are using linier FEED HORN. Use a LHCP FEED HORN (left hand circular polarization). This will solve your problem.

Dear friend
I am able to get it with my 8 feet dish but i am using 12 feet. I am getting 54% signal in 8 feet & 72% in 12 feet dish for FTV. Most channels are recievable in 8 feet in your location. Before u buy a new dish try to set your dish one more time.
