One thought - if you feel so tempted to reprogramme your receiver with 'alternative' firmware - ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS read the original firmware first and save the files. Then backup the files onto a CD-ROM or something similar that you can safely keep offline.

So - then - if you mess up - you have the manufacturers firmware to hand.

As for sharing firmware, etc, just look around the web - there are enough depositorys for this stuff.

look carefully bro

...all process is in sequence.

and one common answer to ur questions is that the firmware provided is the best suit for that hardware. swapping or editing bin files is not a good idea. and yes a backup is ok, but even then it's no guarantee

that backup works ok again.

dont take chances.

hi all !
i have taken backup of my kaon stb also

. but i dont know that how many blocks should i include. mean reading software should start from which block and end at which one

. any one knowing this please respond. thanx in advance.

How backedup fimrware be debugged So that exact location can be edited in "hex editor" ??? How to find which bytes to be changed?

2. shutdown pc and stb
3. connect stb and pc with rs232
4. start pc
5. open loader
6. select proper com port.
7. select "database upload mode" frm dropdown menu in loader.
8. click on start.
9. provide filename as zenega and select destination.

11. extraction starts showing progress both in loader and stb.
12. close when done.
13. disconnect stb securely.
14. rename saved file as zenega.bin.
15. this file should be 322 KB in size for zenega 1006.

reminding u once again, whatever u do is on ur own risk. quiries r welcome. just use search n u'll get loader easily. i m not attaching it coz its not allowed. if mods allow me then i can do it.

i used this attached loader. it is available with this forum in some other thread also. i have "read" my zenega 1006 with it

. u can also try it. i have got the bin file that is 322 kb in size. any query ?

You do realise that even if you successfully downgrade the software the box will automatically upgrade it again?

The ONLY way to stop the software ever being upgraded is to never use the box on Dish TV ever again!

Maxmimum You dont need Drivers for it, If your cable crossing the links, then you need few drivers, If it is than it is not null modem, Pls refer old thread for null modem.

well friends i m giving the information that would suffice u to backup ur zenegas.
prepare a null modem cable. pin connections will be :

use two female serial port sockets that are freely available in market

. use networking cable by soldering as follows.

pin 2 - pin 3
pin 3 - pin 2
pin 5 - pin 5

now the software part of game. here i would like to tell admn and mods that even after repeated efforts i could not upload the loader

. till now i have entertained all the requests, and have e-mailed to all the ppl here who have asked me for it. analoguesat sir

plz help me to upload the loader here. finally let me divert all the thanks to the actual owner of loader.

be aware for what u r going to do with ur stb.

Hi all.

I've got a Xtreme U-cas tuner and a T-rex Twin module Cam. How can I access Orbit on Badr 26E?

I have been into the menu on the tuner after installing the T-rex and it is possible to enter codes in the CA menu.

Is codes all I need or do I have to by a programming unit for my cam or an card + programming unit?

Sorry for the lame language, I'm pretty new to this:-)
