Slingbox can work anywhere.
You need a fast internet connection between the transmitting and receiving points.

My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 6 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/10E/13E/16E/ 19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

The last noble sat warrior to fly the olden flag of Analogue

The SB goes at the far end and is connected to your av source. You use a bit of software at your end called Sling Player to view it on your computer. There is supposed to be a bit of add on hardware to allow viewing on a tv at some point.

You need fast broadband at BOTH ends to get the best out of it. Ive tried it with 400kbps upload speed an it works. Just about. But isnt brilliant at that speed, although a test run from Galashiels in Scotland to to Brighton on the south coast of England proved the concept ok.

You won't get far with a slow upload.

Agree, you need a good B/band high speed connection for optimum performance; however I have one working ok for two years on the following :
Download :1896Kbps
Upload :243Kbps

Remote viewing location around the same download speed and the quality seems fine as I have used it many times.

Aim for a higher upload speed though to be safe.
