has anyone had experience of the Slingbox that connects direct to the TV, is it on the market yet? If it is on the market what upload and downloads speeds are people using for good reception? Cheers

The Slingbox itself simply pushes whatever is connected to it onto the internet. On the receiving end, you'll need a computer or laptop with software installed called the SlingPlayer to watch the content from the Slingbox over the internet. Most people will happily watch stuff on their computer screens, some plug their PCs to their TV screens (like I do) to get the content onto the TV. It's quite messy to be honest, but Sling Media are releasing their 'SlingCatcher' later this year which will plug directly into your TV and work as a reverse-slingbox. You computer wont even need to be switched on! Pretty cool. It has always been the missing piece of the jigsaw if you ask me.
