What can I say once again (as already mentioned) blatant favouritism towards the Ferrari team, how much are the stewards being paid by Ferrari to uphold that ruling? it was a fair fight and very entertaining, the stewards should be ashamed of themselves bringing the sport into disrepute in such a way, Hamilton relinquished the position when he did not have to still won back 1st place and they impose this......

I know how you feel. I'm just waiting for Ferrari to demand an investigation by the FIA on how McLaren have a faster and more reliable car than their own. The truth, as I see it, is that Raikkonen went toe-to-toe and Hamilton came out on top.

Well certainly nobody could say that F1 was boring these days and I think next year will turn it on its head again with KERS arriving on the scene, I am happy with my haul this week but it is all coming together at the wrong end of the season for me.

The race report might be a while, PFF1 is 404'ing at the mo, but I had a look earlier and the score are fantastic. The race was terrific, Vettel looked like he was driving the real Ferrari, not the customer car. Hamilton did well all things considered.

Sebastian Vettel became the youngest ever winner with a truly stunning Italian GP win, and in doing so rocking the F1 world with his brilliant performance in the rain and Toro Rosso’s seemingly mind-boggling ability to beat their parent team – Red Bull Racing, and on this weekend their engine supplier – Ferrari.

Vettel qualified on pole after a rain soaked Saturday saw both Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Raikkonen fail to advance to Q3, and it was not by luck as Toro Rosso picked the best strategy in the ever changing conditions – get a time ASAP on wets! And Toro Rosso’s excellent judgement continued in the race.

Vettel won the race with little pressure from behind; Heikki Kovalainen had a nothing race and if the battles behind him had gone another way he may well have not finished in 2nd. Vettel’s only threats were tyres and Lewis Hamilton.

Hamilton, qualifying in 15th (one behind Kimi Raikkonen), finally woke up from his uncharacteristically dreadful qualifying and set about attacking the points places. The first real test was Raikkonen, the pair of them having both passed Coulthard and Fisichella with ease. Lap 11, and Hamilton pulled off a daring pass in the first Lesmos. Raikkonen from this moment disappeared as a force, finishing in 9th.

Hamilton continued up the places, going past Heidfeld, Glock, Alonso, Trulli and Rosberg until pitting in lap 27 – only 1.1secs behind Vettel at that point.

But the rain was breaking up, and the track was starting to dry – Hamilton had already taken his one and only pit stop, and had gone for another set of wets. Vettel now had the firm advantage when he went in for his scheduled second stop. Vettel duly changed into intermediates, and Hamilton took his very much unscheduled pitting on the very same lap.

Vettel, but for a disaster, was homeward bound for the chequered flag. Hamilton, now wounded but the lost time, managed to finish in 7th after fending off a late challenge from Mark Webber. The Aussie completed the distance in 8th.

Everyone who finished this race was a star, but only the few were rewarded with points. Taking the lowest podium step was Robert Kubica in 3rd, well ahead of 4th place Fernando Alonso. Kubica’s BMW colleague Nick Heidfeld was 5th.

And who finished just ahead of Lewis Hamilton in 6th? None other than Felipe Massa!

Drivers’ Championship | Constructors’ Championship

Lewis Hamilton still leads the Championship, but now by a single point from Felipe Massa – 78pts to 77pts. With two points finishers yet again, Ferrari’s almost season-long domination of the Constructors’ Championship may be about to come to an end as McLaren are only 5pts behind, 134-129.

SupaLiga was showered with points in Italy, with no less than 11 of the 17 teams scoring +100! A SupaLiga record!

Oily was top scorer for the second consecutive race. Only Norm has achieved that same feat this season in Bahrain and Spain. 139pts is also the top score of the season overall. Oily has also won the European Cup with a total score in Europe of 963pts.

Very close behind Oily was Topper with his bunch of Tossers, booking 135pts (2nd highest score this SL season). The Tossers also make the most upwards movement, going up 2 places. The Outcasts claimed 130pts, and yet don’t move up at all!

Still in 2nd and 3rd are F1 Aberdeen and Auto-Dynamo, but just a point separates the pair with Dynamo scoring 117 to Aberdeen’s 116.

Creatures (up 1) and Tom34 both scored 114pts, and ScotBordersF1 and Honda-Williams also achieved identical scores of 100pts.

And finally, one has to feel sorry for misterminibus and pgh13. Having both scored +100 – 112pts for Pro-Drive and 113pts for Non PC Racing – they both fall a place in the standings! By the way, that was pgh13’s season best score!

Well Singapore served up a cracking race with plenty of incidents, with 7 century scores in the league

Formula 1 entered the night for the first time in Singapore, with spectacular views of the city state and a truly stunning race to match.

Felipe Massa got off the grid without any problems to keep 1st place in front of Lewis Hamilton. Heikki Kovalainen, starting in 5th, attempted a passing manoeuvre on Robert Kubica that ended with the Pole literally banging the Finn’s side with a front wheel.

It seemed for a short while that this street race might be rather uneventful, with Massa looking solid in 1st with neither Hamilton nor Raikkonen looking likely to cause much mischief – but then Nelson Piquet slammed into the wall in lap 15!

This brought out the safety car, setting off a crazy chain of events.

With the pit lane out-of-bounds during a safety car, Nico Rosberg and Robert Kubica were caught short and had to refuel, thereby incurring stop-and-go penalties when the safety car returned to the pits.

And then the unbelievable happened. With the pits now reopened, Massa rushed into the pits with a desperate need to refuel, followed by team mate Kimi Raikkonen. With Raikkonen queuing behind Massa, the Ferrari pit crew had to work quickly to minimise time lost for Kimi, and Massa went as soon as the lights went green on Ferrari’s automated pit indicator.

Unfortunately for Felipe, the fuel hose was still attached!!! Still connected to the tank, the hose took out half the pit crew before ripping away and Massa had to stop at the end of the pit lane to wait for his crew to attend to Kimi and then run and pull out the loose hose. Rumour has it that the watching McLaren crew were cheering on the sprinting mechanics!

Needless to say, Hamilton pitted without incident. And amongst the chaos, Rosberg was able to take the lead before serving his penalty!

With all that went on, everyone was in a daze and it took several laps for the main benefactor to be established – Fernando Alonso! Yes, quite incredibly it would turn out that Alonso’s misfortune in qualifying, when with a clearly competitive car he cruelly suffered a fuel supply problem, helped him as his revised (and unique) one-stop strategy allowed the Spaniard to race to the finish.

Hamilton was now behind Coulthard in 3rd, and with the lack of overtaking opportunities would have to hope that he could beat the Scot during the second round of pit stop. Lewis did, just not how he’d have expected.

Going into the pits at the same time, Hamilton had another textbook stop, but Coulthard ‘done a Massa’ and almost went off with his hose!

With the chequered flag in sight, it would appear that the excitement was over for one day, with Alonso taking the win, Rosberg in 2nd and Lewis finishing in 3rd. These were the final top 3, but we were about to be spoilt with another incident. Kimi was looking to safe for 5th when a mistake on the tight turn 10 chicane saw the Iceman end his race in the wall.

The winner in Italy, Sebastian Vettel, capped another fine display with 5th, behind Timo Glock in 4th. In 6th, 7th and 8th were Nick Hiedfeld, David Coulthard and Kazuki Nakajima.

Night racing is here to stay.

Drivers’ Championship | Constructors’ Championship

The disastrous pit stop played right into Lewis Hamilton’s hand, as the Brit is now 8pts ahead of Felipe Massa, and Ferrari’s nightmare weekend has been rubber-stamped by losing top spot in the Constructor’s Championship to McLaren, now leading by a single point, 135-134.

Oily achieved the highest score for the third race in succession (125pts) to open up a 48pt lead on the opposition. That opposition has changed, as my Dynamo team (109pts) reclaim 2nd place for the first time since Valencia. F1 Aberdeen has fallen to 3rd, Norm’s lowest placing since Bahrain. Team Oily also now head the chase for the Americas & Asia Cup, knocking ScotBordersF1 off pole position.

Analoguesat’s ScotBordersF1, with a score of 109pts, did however join the 7 other teams that logged in centuries in Singapore. Creatures (110pts – 5th), Tom34 (112pts – 7th), Tossers (124pts – 9th) and Pro-Drive (106pts – 10th) all moved up 1 place in SupaLiga.

Despite all the high scores, no one actually recorded a PB for the season this weekend – standards are evidently rising!

Fernando Alonso recorded a second straight victory for the first time this season, as the title fight between Lewis Hamilton and Felipe Massa continues on to China both unresolved and now with a late outsider coming into the fray in the shape of Robert Kubica.

The very first corner provided the first talking point when Lewis Hamilton, on pole, got off the grid poorly and had to defend against an attacking Kimi Raikkonen, resulting in the Finn being pushed wide by the McLaren man. David Coulthard went off into the barriers after making contact with Kazuki Nakajima.

Hamilton would later have to serve a drive-through penalty for that infringement, but not before a much more controversial incident only a lap later.

Now behind Felipe Massa, Lewis overtook Massa at turn 10 going into the hairpin, Massa left the track momentarily (going over the grass), rejoined and bumped Lewis on the side and sending the Brit into a small spin. Hamilton had to wait for everyone to pass before being able to correct the car and continue racing.

Massa was handed a drive-through for that violation – incidently, the penalties were handed to LH and FM at the same time on lap 17, just seconds before Heikki Kovalainen’s engine appeared to fail – this will not be a race to remember for McLaren.

In amongst the chaos, perhaps only a driver with the wit and intelligence of a world champion could prevail. Two-times champion Fernando Alonso was leading the race, having qualified in 4th, and the Spaniard never needed to look over his shoulder.

The excitement died down after the shenanigans early on, with the exception of Massa appearing oblivious to Sebastien Bourdais exiting the pits and was touched into a spin before turn 1.

Kimi Raikkonen tried and failed to pass Robert Kubica for 2nd place late on, but held on for 3rd and a place on the podium, and just before the end Massa recovered from that momentary blip to pass Heidfeld and then Webber for 8th place and a single point.

Nelson Piquet, twice a leader of the race during the rounds of pit stops, finished a very creditable 4th ahead of Jarno Trulli.

Finishing in 6th was Sebastien Bourdais, but following a post-race stewards’ inquiry into the Massa incident the Frenchman was handed a time penalty of 25 seconds. This resulted in Sebastian Vettel, Felipe Massa and Mark Webber all gaining an extra position and point in 6th, 7th and 8th respectively.

Drivers’ Championship | Constructors’ Championship

The extra point sees Felipe Massa close the gap on Lewis Hamilton to 5pts, but Robert Kubica now has an outside chance with 12pt to make up. No points in Japan for McLaren mean that Ferrari are back on top of the team standings, 142pts to 135pts.

Norm’s F1 Aberdeen are back on form with 125pts, top score today and Norm’s first since Spain. This sees F1 Aberdeen back up to 2nd, knocking Dynamo down to 3rd, but they must have a stunning end-of-season run if they are to defend the title and wrestle top spot away for Team Oily. Oily scored 111pts today, his lowest score since Hungary!

There were 6 other teams that registered over 100pts today; Outcast continue their recent hot form with 121pts and move up to 11th, Linhas BMW are not far behind in Japan with 119pts and return to 7th after their dip in Singapore, and Honda-William (up to 5th) and Pro-Drive both scored 109pts.

108pts see the Tossers maintain their firm grip on 9th, and finally, despite taking 104pts Tom34 drops a place to 8th.

for what looked like Massa's fault

I mean where was Bourdais suppose to go or should he have just slowed down and give up the position

And Massa only gets a drive through penalty for his little 'indiscretion' with Hamilton which looked far worse than the above.

I have to say that I have no idea how or why Bordais has been penalised for coming out of the pits and being hit by Massa. The people running this circus do not seem to care or have no idea how foolish they make themselves look in front of the millions of viewing public.

It was an interesting race where Lewis Hamilton instead of looking at the overall end game went for immediate recovery move after a bad start that messed up his whole race. He went from being a cool cucumber to seeing the red mist in about 2 seconds.
