Join our Euro 2008 fantasy league!

Fantasy football returns to Satellites.co.uk just 3 weeks after the conclusion of the Premier League, and as ever everyone, both new to and returning for fantasy football, is invited!

Euro 2008 starts on Saturday 7th June with Switzerland versus Czech Republic, so time is short to join up and select your team to win SupaLiga @ Euro 2008, Satellite.co.uk’s official Euro 2008 fantasy league.

And, as is always the case with SupaLiga games, this is completely free to play

Here is how to join SupaLiga @ Euro 2008:

1. Go to the official UEFA Euro 2008 fantasy game website: http://en.fantasy.euro2008.uefa.com/

2. Register for a UEFA.com account (totally free) by clicking on ‘Register’ on the narrow grey bar, to the right of the log in boxes. Alternatively, log in if you already have a UEFA.com account. Note - I am aware that some people have experienced problems registering, particular with the username entry. Please persist with it, it does work eventually and is easy enough once your in

3. Set-up* and select your team.

4. To join SupaLiga @ Euro 2008, Satellites.co.uk’s own mini-league, click on ‘Leagues’ on the narrow grey bar, then in the box under ‘Join a private league’ type in/copy and paste the following code and click 'Join league':

***CLOSED - NEW ENTRIES NO LONGER ACCEPTED***

5. You are now ready to play! One last thing, please please please let us know who your team is by posting a message on this thread or sending me a PM message. This is very important as we need to be sure that everyone is a member of this forum, as the league is only for members of this forum.

You can use this thread to discuss not only this fantasy league, but all things Euro 2008, whether it be great goals and great games, winners and losers or refs and bad boys! Hope to see you in the league and good luck!

* If you were a member of Premier League SupaLiga 2007/2008, could I kindly request that you come up with a different team name to that of you Premier League team. Think funny, random, big, strange, whatever takes your fancy!

Confirmed managers and teams participating:

Analoguesat - Borders FC
gbaggerz - Euro Dreamers
kreacher - Creatures
mhku - Game of 2 Halves
Norm - Donkeyland
RedDevil_UK - Where's England?
rolfw - Satellite Screwballs
S_G - Squadra del Sello
Salty25 - White Emirates Lane
T_G - Team of Idiots
T_G's young lad - Wonder FC
Tom34 - Tom34 Rainbow

I've noticed a certain hesistation for people to join (or you've all gone on holiday!). Well, I do realise that some of you might think that you have to change/pick you team every day. Don't worry, you don't!

These are the transfer deadlines for the entire competition:

Group Stage 1 7 Jun 18:00 CET
Group Stage 2 11 Jun 18:00 CET
Group Stage 3 15 Jun 20:45 CET
Quarter-finals 19 Jun 20:45 CET
Semi-finals 25 Jun 20:45 CET
Final 29 Jun 20:45 CET

As you can see, you will have plenty of time, and it won't be too labour intensive. The basic principle is that every team will play once between each Group Stage deadline (a 'Matchday').

Is it the registration part that is causing problems, or the team selection set-up screen?

Thanks for joining Tom

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

OK, managed to get in with my old login, from the old Champions League, so used the forgotten password with my old Email address.

The team selection is straightforward.

Salty,
the regristration! You do it once, then you can't setup a team.....one has to register again??

Anyway, does anybody know where one can get a reasonable priced (working and no-phone-line) Sky HD box?

Log-in to the website again and tell us what you get on the screen. It should have a screen where you name your team and make the team kits, then on the next page you select the players.

Please ONLY use the link I've provided on the opening post to access the website - http://en.fantasy.euro2008.uefa.com/. The reason for this is that by going to the website via a different url you might go to the pre-tournament 'friendly' game, which is completely different to this one (and which, no doubt, will confuse a good many people! Thank you UEFA). Only access the website through this address (might be a good idea to bookmark it).

Don't worry, even I had problems with this one, UEFA made a complete mess by having a pre-tournament.

Well, since Greece (who had never won a game in the Euros before) won Euro 2004, I think even you might have some hope

I get a McDonalds Fantasy Football home page with other selections like "statistics", "prizes", "tipster", "rules" and "help" (and says welcome Norm at the top), but nothing about naming a team or anything like that. I think I'll re-register using a different e-mail address and userid (I might do it at work tomorrow!). I have used Salty's link, though.

I see, "statistics", "prizes", "tipster", "rules" and "help" will be on a red bar. Under that is a grey bar, click on "My Team".

No problems. I think it's quite poorly presented, but the game itself is virtually the same to the one we're used to, and very easy to use.

OK - after much trouble, Donkeyland has joined up. Question is, am I going to regret not picking Ronaldo? But one thing's for sure - I bet mine is probably the only team in the league to have a player from Inverness!
