Welcome to the forum Boaby

Good heavens above it is 26 May 2009, I doubt if even the SPL could possibly answer that question at this time of the year, the season only finished yesterday, I'm afraid you will have to be a bit more patient.

cool, i see ktv 3 and al jazeera are FTA on nilesat. do these channels normally show 3pm Ko's especially at ibrox?

Do you also think a 85cm dish would be good for the sats for these channels or should i maybe got to 95cm or bigger? i'm up in Scotland in Airdrie near Glasgow.

looking at this motorized setup which has been getting good reviews _http://www.tringsat.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypag e.tpl&product_id=71&category_id=20&option=com_virt uemart&Itemid=53. any input and advice would be appreciated.

Cheers

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

If you are looking to receive Nilesat from Scotland, you will need a bigger dish than the ones you mention, I'm sure someone will be able to give you a reasonably accurate guide.

That kit doean't look too bad, although the dish is not of the highest quality, and if it comes with a bracket, it will probably be unsuitable. Also have a look at our site supporting advertisers for equipment.

My System: Channel Master 1.2m motorised, V Box, Technomate 1500ci.

Big dish for sure! Something of the order of 3 metres possibly? I don't think I'd be prepared to make that sort of outlay just for the SPL and not least because it's uncertain times for the company at the source of coverage (ie Setanta). The perceived wisdom has always been (as far as I am aware) - install as large a dish as you can afford and get away with and treat everything non-FTA you get as a bonus. If you cannot justify the installation on that basis, then don't do it because you'll probably be disappointed!

We did get some SPL games this season, mainly on 1W for me on my relatively small dish, but next season - who knows?

Hi,

I'm new to this site. Was wondering who apart from SKY and ESPN have the rights to SPL games on a Saturday mainly Rangers games. I'm wanting to buy a dish and receiver. Preferably not too big, but can also pick up at least all the rangers home games if not all the rangers games. I see from the liveonsat.com site Setanta Africa are showing the season opener against Falkirk. Could I buy a motorised dish from Maplin, with a viaccess cam mpeg-4 or would I require more equipment?

Does anyone know which Arabic sports channel has the rights to the SPL for this season(2009-10). Art Sport seemed to have it last year. Their's nothing listed for Saturdays Rangers opening game against Falkirk on Saturday on Liveonsat.com, apart from Setanta Africa and I don't know how or if I can receive this channel.

Aberdeen v Celtic was shown on Saturday on more than one channel on 1W. I don't remember which channel I used but as Aberdeen supporter, I would want to forget anyway! Dundee Utd v Hearts is being shown on 1W tonight as indicated on the Liveonsat site you already know about. I'm sorry I can't help you with Art Sports.
