I get the impression a tweak is just not going to be enough Ross, look where Rolf and myself are now having had a heart to heart with our players.

You could of course invoke the complete team change (without penalty) option and start with a fresh bunch of lame donkeys

I am of course only bragging on this thread cos I dropped down to 5th in F1

August Manager of the Month

(Weekly scores available in attached full table, which now includes full transfer breakdown!)

The Barclays Premier League has got off to a fabulous start, with not just the establised Big 4 as well as Man City and the usual suspects making headlines, but the promoted teams have also all won games (Burnley beating the champions Man United!) and Stoke City currently sit 5th in the table.

In PL SupaLiga, things are very close in these early weeks, so close in fact that the current leader and August Manager of the Month was able to jump from 9th to 1st this weekend - MotM is Salty25, yep that's me, manager of Dynamo Sol!

T_G, last season's runner-up, may well feel somewhat aggrieved that despite scoring more points overall, his transfers have cost him the monthly honour in the last week of the month. Topper could also have been on top were it not for that extra transfer. Only time will tell whether a light-touch or constant tinkering is the route to victory.

Rounding out the top 5, and the all-important UniSat Champions League spots, is stuzeeuk's Paraletic Athletic and malcolm's Toondrastic - indeed, malcolm retains the 5th place that he finished last season in.

PLSL champion mhku is sitting midtable in 13th, while RED United (3rd in 08/09) ends August in 9th but did achieve the highest score thus far - 71pts in GW3.

UniSat Results
Satellites RED 56-29 IUF Grabs
Mucho Calor Huy 30-38 Badm******s
AC Few 38-36 Donkeytown
Toondrastic 16-36 UMBAA Laugh
RED United 40-42 Dogs Bollox
Rapscallions 42-43 Purple Mob

Leading the way early on is T_G and Satellites RED, runner up of last season’s PL SupaLiga, who defeated IUF Grabs of the Den League 56pts to 29. The selection of Real’s Cristiano Ronaldo as captain was a masterstroke for T_G as the Portuguese scored twice from free-kicks in the 5-2 away win at Zurich.

Three of this week’s games were won by margins of two points or less. awd claimed the biggest scalp of the week, as his AC Few team defeated UCL champions Donkeytown (Norm) 38-36, in no small part thanks to Dirk Kuyt’s winner for Liverpool against Debreceni.

The Den teams Purple Mob and Dogs Bollox, managed by mb63 and neilzilla, scored 43 and 42 points respectively but that was only just enough to grab wins for both of them. The Mob beat scallywag’s Rapscallions by a single point in the only all-Den game, while the Dogs fetched the three points with a 42-40 victory over RED United, managed by T_G Jnr.

Den League champion sonic and his squad, UMBAA Laugh, got the win over Toondrastic despite only mustering 36pts against malcolm’s men, and tomthebomb1968 was the only other SatellitesUK manager to taste victory as his Badm******s team sensationally beat SupaLiga champions Mucho Calor Huy! 38 to 30 without any of his players scoring a goal!

The next matchday promises more intrigue, as last season’s PL SupaLiga top two – Mucho Calor Huy! and Satellites RED – face-off, and two of this week’s winners – Badm******s and AC Few – go head-to-head in search of a place in the top 4.

Keep up to date with the UniSat Champions League on matchdays by going to the league homepage.
