England v Ukraine game how did you watch it?

England's World Cup qualifier away in Ukraine on Saturday will be shown exclusively live to subscribers on the internet who will pay at least Ģ4.99.

Kentaro - an international agency appointed by the Ukrainian Football Federation - originally sold the UK rights for the game to Setanta.

But after the pay-TV firm collapsed, digital sport specialist Perform was appointed to stream the match online.......

....The cost of watching the game was being advertised on Monday in the Daily Express as Ģ4.99 if viewers signed up before midnight on Wednesday.

Charges rise to Ģ9.99 for those who subscribe on Thursday and Friday, and Ģ11.99 on Saturday.

Yes, saw this on Brekkie Telly: Eyes will be peeled for Satellite Feeds for non-UK Providers then.

I see there are a few Channels already listed on L-Js, but no FTA ones.

There have been a couple of live feeds on 21.5E, with English commentary, I think it's from Al Jazeera, and they have been advertising the Ukraine Vs England game.
I watched part of the Rangers Vs Celtic game on there so it might be worth checking out.

It's a disgrace that the national team (any country) games are not shown FTA. It should be put into the constitution of FIFA that ANY of these games have to be shown on one regular channel. But, looking at the double corrupt, inept, lazy, stupid old men who run the world game I know this is never going to happen. Rant over

I've just watched the demo stream at _http://www.ukrainevengland.com/register.jsp you need to click on the test the demo link, half way down the page.

If that video clip is the quality that will be streamed on saturday, then I wouldn't bother. Be interesting to see others' views.

I sometimes watch football games using streams, the quality varies. Sometimes the quality is acceptable, but never good enough for a full screen picture.
I reckon that if they want to have 1 million users they are going to have serious bandwidth problems.
I am going to watch it on TRT1 on 42 east, is FTA there

Considering FIFA are more than willing to sell rights to World Cup final tournament games to pay-tv networks, and are only prevented from doing in the UK by legislation, I wouldn't hold your breath.

OK, watched it on the stream on my 19" monitor, wasn't bad, also watched it on TRT1 42 East, picture a little better on the 22" Samsung TV, but then again the bitrate was poor on that channel.

Not sure whether it is setting the trend for things to come.

What does everyone else think?

I was stuck with the Radio - but, as they say, the pictures were better.

Sadly the performance wasn't.

Watched it on TRT with my QboxHD, picture etc was quite good, only the constant advertising on the bottom was not so good. It should have covered all of the screen most of the time so I wouldn't have to see what went on. This was like Steve Mcclowns England had returned. Mistake after mistake afte mistake. But, maybe it is better that way, with the media building it up as if the world cup is already won. Bring them back to earth, hopefully it will be a blessing in disguise.
