Tennis

Im checking out the wimbledown tennis on the bbc, and the following thought came to my mind.

Why cant i get the bbc interactive service on my digital satellit receiver ?

Is it only available on sky and freeview receivers or am i missing something on my humax software or user instructions ?

Interactive only works with Freeview or S*y boxes.

The channels are available but you will have to find them and save as a bouquet.

You have to check the BBC FTA channels on 28.2 and list them in a new bouquet - you do all the work I'm afraid.

The interactive service is transmitted but not as a bouquet - i was suggesting the easiest way for you was to add them then you can access them when you want.

Hopefully some kind person will list the frequencies.

Well guys, ive checked out 28.2 satellite listings on lyngsat for frequencies and i noticed bbci 1 - 7 at 12441v 27500 2/3 and bbci 8 and 9 at 10847v 22000 5/6

But if i search out those frequencies, those interactive channels are not coming up ??

Any further thoughts on this one - has anyone got the bbc interactive channels on a ci sat receiver

Think they only transmit when an interactive service is available.

Don't think that's all the time.

You could check if a friend has Freeview or S*y.

My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 5 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/13E/16E /19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

Thers half a dozen on 12441. They should be running all the time - they run test loops when they are off air.

When i did a search the other day, i had expected to get bbci1 to 7 but they were not there and i just ignored the other channels.

But trying again tonight, i notice there are 7 channels called DEV-STRM-0 to 6 so i wonder if this is the 7 bbci channels

at this moment there is a signal but im getting the "service is not running or scrambled" jivetalk

I will revisit them tomorrow during wimbledown and see what shows

Perhaps those streams are on the Astra 2D interactive service.

Hi analogue, when you say they are on the astra 2d, what does that mean ?

We know that they are available on the sky bsb receivers from 28.2 satellite and also on the independent freeview receivers in uk from a roof aerial.

The question is, are they available on the "non-sky bsb satellite receivers" via 28.2 satellite and if so , How ? and if not , Why ?

Appreciate your continued assistance in this matter, and it will be great to get to the bottom of this puzzle

Astra 2d is at 28.2 but the area covered by that satellite (footprint) is focused over the UK. The others generally cover more of Europe.

If you are not in the UK you may have problems receiving some channels.

I'll have a look when I get home and find out which frequencies the tennis is on (assuming it hasnt been rained off).

If so, i dont understand why they did not operate for me, but i will try again tomorrow. What message do you get on them after wimbledown has finished?

Yes those were on the Dev channels. When they are off air they run a video and audio loop 24-7. If you cant see them there is something wrong with your system.

Analogue, Ive checked out these dev channels again (same frequencies etc as you), and i just get the program is not being transmetted or is scrambled message ?

There is definetly a top signal from the channels but no picture or sound ?
I get all the bbc other channels from 28.2 satellite perfectly.

What can be my problem here ?

Hi to all,

I was having the same problem with my PanaBox. So I bought a cheap FTA box, which receives all these Streams without any problem.

Theres a technical reason. Your box doesnt like the way the streams are transmitted for some reason. They work on my Echostar and the fta Coship Ive got rigged up in the bedroom.

Hi,

Let alone the transmissions related to the Wimbledon tournament, it seems that 6 out of the 7 streams available from 2B are most of the time close. However on BBC’s webpage it says that Interactive TV is always available, showing news, sports, weather forecats etc.

Do you know why this is happening Analoguesat ?

thanks

There are effectively 2 separate sets of stream:

The Dev channels on Astra 2D (10847) carry the weather / news headlines etc most of the time. The 12441 transmissions show a short test loop all the time when proper programming isnt on The test loops show the stream numbers.

Most of the Wimbledon games have been on 12441, so although the "interactive" games are only up whilst games are on (obviously) the streams are always there.

But is there an absolute and concise explanation why my humax cannot receive these free to air 12441 channels , or should that be descramble them as they show a good signal quality, but no picture or sound ?

And how come your echo picks them up analogue ?
