Well, I havent the patience (or brain power) to go into deep detail, but with less than a week til day one of the first Test, the rights still havent been sorted out in the UK as of now.Basically, the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) sold worldwide rights to Nimbus, for £300 million or so, and now Nimbus (in much the same style as ITV Digital) have found themselves unable to recoup that vastly overpriced amount, and thus have been beggin/bargining with Sky, Zee TV, Sony, Setanta etc to sell the rights for a compariablly stupid price

Blog Entries: 3 My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum. | They obviously overestimated the "Cricket Fever", generated by the Ashes series.

Cricket in India is huge, but this Nimbus lot have hugely overestimated the value of Indian cricket worldwide. Strangely, the US is a major market for Indian cricket, would you believe?!

• 38% of doctors in the USA, 12% of scientists in the USA, 36% of NASA scientists, 34% of Microsoft employees, 28% of IBM employees, 17% of INTEL scientists, 13% of XEROX employees, • … are Indians. Of the 1.5M Indians living in the USA, 1/5th of them live in the Silicon Valley. It must be the interest in Silicon Valley.. not New York !! ![]() SR

Anyway, it was confirmed today that BSkyB have got the rights, not just this tour, but for all test serie, and more, in India for the next four years http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cric...nd/4739178.stm

What, you mean that films aren't real? ![]() I find some of those statistics a little hard to believe though, given that there are 800,000 active doctors in the USA, that would mean that 304,000 of them are Indian, meaning 1 in 5 Indians living in the USA are doctors. ![]() PS. Was only joking about the taxi drivers,

the ugliest features which makes it easy to recognise.. ![]() You are right about the number of doctors. The actual figure of practising american physicians of indian origin is about 6.5% i.e. 1 in 15. Perphaps the figure of 38 % was for the number of doctorates !! ![]() ![]() SR Last edited by sragoo; 04-03-2006 at 12:02 PM.
