RIP Peter Osgood.

As you know Peter Osgood, the Chelsea and Southampton player has dies aged 59... Ironicaly he collapsed while attending the funeral of another relative!!

Yet another footballing legend taken early from us all. sad really.

looks like the heaven 11 has a better squad than Chelsea now

A player of immense character and capability.
As a neutral, I remember vividly his performance in the
Cup finals against Leeds which Chelsea won in the
Old Trafford replay.

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

Very sad to hear the news, Peter used to visit a bar I managed back in the 90s, got to know him quite well, a lovely guy with a great sense of humour. It used to be an in joke that when he arrived I would shout, "Look, it's Ossie the famous footballer . . . . . .. . . . . .and what would you like to drink today Mr Ardiles?" He was good natured enough to laugh every time.

Very sad to see him die so young, a real gentleman.

Yep. Very sad. One of my boyhood heroes too.

So long Ossie.

Sat down in front of the TV to watch the footie just after kickoff, and when I asked my son why they were wearing black armbands, I was stunned by the reply.

Not only did crouch have a screwed up shirt number, there was no armband either, nor for SWP IIRC.
