Talking watching and listening to live footy

i think i may have solved (in my case) watching foreign footy channels, and listening to english com (when possible)

ive been messing about with dvb-t (the card was in when i got computor) and in doing so tried a little experiment:
put radio 1 on "normal radio", and also picked it up through dvb-t using progdvb(would rather use another program but progdvb is the only one so far that works with my dvb-t card)
i think, because the program has to process the info i get a slight delay in sound
next tried watching dvb-s through different progdvb with sound down (only interested in picture quality (taq1 blade trinity) and dvb-t with sound up and hey presto both work fine.

next test, if i can watch city play weekend with dvb-s and get commentary with dvb-t the sync might not be to far away (fingers crossed)

btw, living in algeria cheshire is my signal coming from winter hill, as i don't think ive got every channel possible, (probably have to enlarge ini file i made with more transponders when i find them)

what? so when your watching utd on say tps foot and litening to century the 2 are in sync so u don't get to hear about the goal before you see it

btw the way if i was a formula 1 driver i don't think ide sign for a team called team oily (dosen't actually fill you with confidence )

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

Have added it for you, but does seem a lot to pay for the delay.

Doh!!! i thought darts was darts

swiftly moving on.....
i have a 5.1 sound system plugged in my DVD player... if i was to plug that into my sky+ box and choose a Radio station, then put TPS on... i wonder how far the audio would be out???

Has anyone tried that?

the other thing with it being sky+ if the audio is a little in front, i could rewind a notch or pause then quickly unpause.

sounds like a plan ill try it next game

OK, this mainly seems to be a challenge for me and Bronking

tried the trick above..
today, watching United vs W. Brom on TPS Foot
obviously french commentry... complete gibberish to the likes of me lol

anyway, i connected the 5.1 speaker system to the sky+ box, and chose Radio 5 Live channel 0105
great got to hear the English commentry while watching the pic from TPS..... wait but..... awww its out still

Saha scored and i knew before he kicked the bugger!!!!

The radio seems to be a good second in front Ummm back to the drawing board

PS
i tried the pause and unpause with sky+ to create a delay.... but it seems you cant use that feature on radio stations

the only way i see this being done, is if you dont mind being about 10 minutes behind real time

start a manual recording using sky+ and record the channel that has the commentry
and also record the TPS channels with Video/PVR/Dreambox etc

then start to watch and spend the first 5 minutes messing with the sync.

NO way is that ideal, but its the best i could do today.

Thumbs up

I know some people can live with it, but I found the delay too frustrating.... you know.... the radio commentary tells you there's just been a goal but the Roonmeister has only just crossed the half-way line!

I've solved this easily by investing in a DAB digital radio with a pause/rewind function. I just pause live radio for a second or two, and hey presto, in sync!

Now, if only I could do the same with Chelski!!!
