English teams out of the Cham league - GREAT

Great news for England

Chelsea, Liverpool and ManU get knocked out of the champions league so the English players can rest before the world cup.

Unfortunately only Arse nul left.

My System: Sky+ Pace v3, and before that analouge 80cm dish with Prima by Pace box pointed at 19.2e (not very imaginative then!)

hehe good point. I wonder what on earth Arsenal, and for that matter Inter Milan, would do if UEFA decreed that there had to be a certain number of domestic players in your squad?!!!

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

LOL, don't say that Salty, I heard Arsen Wenger on the radio earlier and he was insinuating that to suggest it was outrageous that Arsenal did not field a British player could be considered racist,

i hadnt heard that. if he did try to say that, its a bit, well, sick to play the race card in relation to transfer/squad policy. he prefectly well knows that Arsenal, as a English club, should be promoting English talent.

Must say it does seem odd Arsenal all Foreigners [is that racist] it is a poor deal for the English playerers brought up/trials through the club. They probably will never get a game for the gunners, almost pointless. Good to see lampard, rooney and co. And remember the Tony Adams like men who served the gunners for 20 years. He was in Holland with the youth teams.

They should bring back the rule that only 3 foreigners can play in the side, but it got a little silly when they said players from Ireland/Wales/Scotland were "foreigners"

I agree with Wenger. The English national team 'represents' England, not Arsenal. These days (like it or not) football is a business with a product. Having said that if English players are good enough they'll play, like the Chelsea guys. Arsenal have had a few English players over the years and still have one or two who are injured.
