Bad pixelation on art last 2 days?

Hi

I only got my system installed the day before the start of the season (80cm dish, 1500ci) and it was perfect for the first weeks football but then yesterday it was pixelating a bit, and today it seems alot worse.

Signal strength and quality on the setup menu last week were both mid 80s, now low 70s. On the actual art channel the quality last week was low-mid 70's, now mid 60s.

Anyone else had the same or do i have a problem? Im in liverpool

Thanks

I cant really get at it to wipe it, no ladders.

The guy who installed it has fitted it to the same pole that the sky dish is on. I just went out to look at it and its moving a bit in the wind, could that be the problem?

My System: Sky HD, TM6800HD, Manhattan Plaza ST550 and TM1500 CI+. 1.0m dish and 36v motor, Panasonic DVD HDD recorder and Panasonic video/DVD recorder. Sony G800 HD TV stand/surround system + Sony KDL40W2000. Infinity USB, Elvis, CAS1, CAS2.

Most dishes look as though they 'waiver' in high winds but they don't in fact move their position in relation to line of sight. It could be that the pole you have is not strong enough for 2 dishes and it's been pulled about a bit.

that said, signal strength can dip for no reason... then rise again?

its happened to me a few times, although i probably get away with it a bit more having a bigger dish perhaps..

as for the pole moving theory....
has your sky signal changed?, if they are both on the same pole and its moved... sky will be affected too

last but not least.... the engineer who fitted the dish, may have not tightened the bolts enough, and it could have moved in the wind?

No, he came while i was at work, and just looked at tv, and left saying it was fine (alot of the channels are fine, most infact, but ART isnt). I rang him up when i got home saying its not so hes coming back tuesday now, he mentioned he might fit it on its own bracket.

The dish hasnt actually got a clear line of sight, it sort of points at the house next door. When i first seen how he'd set it up i thought theres no way it will work, but it was fine for about 2 weeks so i assumed it was ok. My initial quality was 82-85% on the main menu, with art being about 74% and this was fine. How does this compare with other peoples signals on 80cm dishes? Sadly now it has dropped to low 70's/high 60's on the main menu, and art is low 60's, and now it pixelates and freezes every few seconds.

Here's a pic of the setup, maybe ill get a higher signal strength with a clear line to the sky? Im just not sure where/how he can fit it to achieve this. Maybe as other people say its just moved a bit as it wasnt tightend enough? Im hoping its that anyway

Thanks for all the help so far!

My System: Technomate TMS-1500 CI+ "patched" receiver, 90cm p/f 36v motorised dish, Inverto C120 0.3db LNB, Moteck V-Box 2, Packard Bell 6052 XP Home computer, Toshiba A60 laptop, and lots of Russian Vodka !

Looking at that it does not seem to have a clear line of sight, though it's a bit hard to tell for sure.
The signal quality on my 90cm has dropped this week from 84% to 74 for no apparent reason on Art Sports, so IF your signal is being partially blocked by the house next door this MIGHT be the reason.

From the pic it looks like the dish arm is parallel to the ground. Is it or just the illusion?

Yeah its pretty parallel, the dish doesnt point as high as the sky dish does, thats for sure. I just had a look again as the pic was taken a few days ago, and im sure the sat arm is actually pointing below the horizontal now?!

Anyway, i lost all signal today, cant pick up any channels now, its been really windy so i dunno if its been blown and pointed down a bit. Signal quality and strength are now both in the 20's

Loose arm possibly in which case it will be off the arc. When he comes back he should perhaps set up the dish again from scratch.

Hmm

Post is too small in diameter, wall brackets are too close together, only a single clamp securing the dish to the post, and no cable ties in sight.

No wonder its moving

He said the LNB had gone, couldnt pick anything up on it, not even astra. Getting a new LNB for it then he said he'll fit it to its own mount aswell.
