English Football on other satellites?

Hi,

Can anybody tell me if there are english football matches shown on other satellites which i can pick up? I have seen something about matches being shown on foreign satellites? I have the standard digital satellite dish is this good enough?

Thanks

There are a lot of live Premiership games broadcasted every week on various satellites including the 3.00pm Saturday kick off's....and free to air as well!...thing is you will need a good motorised system and the dish size of about 90cm (depending on the area where you live!)

I'm looking for english football as well. I'm using an 80cm dish pointed at 13E, with a TELEVES digital receiver currently receiving all the FTA Hotbird Channels.

I'm looking at buying a Merlin Cam, will that help me receive any FTAfootball? I'm not worried about English Commentary, just to get a picture will be a start. Any help or advice would be welcomed.

If I have to pay a subscription to get the football, which operator is the cheapest option?

Well first of all you should'nt need your CAM to receive FTA footy. If your dish is static you really need to look on this site to choose what Satellite to tune it to: http://www.knplogic.co.uk/sport/ the popular 'Birds' that most people tune into are Turksat 42'E, Arabsat 26'E, EutelsatW2 16'E and Sirius 5'E. These show the most free footy, and Saturday Premership too. but to benifit the most you really need a motorised system rather than having to keep turning your dish every time you want to watch a game on a different sat!

Cheers for that Waverider. So would I just need to change my LNB in order to make my system motorised enough to recieve all those frequencies? Which would you recommend? I was just going to buy the Merlin CAM so I could get Free XTV or whatever its called, but if I can get FTA football and occasional frankie by making my dish motorised I'll do that instead.

Wooo up there m8...steady on! you need a dish motor!....best thing I would recomend you do is use a search engine on 'UK satellite systems' and browse websites of companies who specialise in equipment then you will see what you need!....If you want to scan the sky's you really need to spend about £450.00 to have a reasonable set up! or you could with what you have is to have twin LNB's to receive 5'E & 13'E

Aha, yeah a twin LNB sounds fine. Which channels broadcast FTA football at 5 deg east then? Also is there any FTA porn on Sirius? There doesn't seem to be any on hotbird.

Alternatively I can get this s/h merlin cam for 65 quid, this combined with a suitable card will give me unencrypted football from a few hotbird channels won't it? It comes with Free XTV as I understand it. I'm still finding my feet with all this so forgive my ignorance.

cheers geezer

Using a Cam on there's about 9 regular porn channels you could receive on 13'E and about 2 or 3 on 5'E....as for footy the only main one for FTA is TV Sport RO on 5'E

OK so if I go by the cam route, with the merlin cam on which previously encrypted football channels on hotbird could it encrypt which I couldn't previously get without the cam?

Alternatively by the LNB route, is there any FTA porn on 5' E? Also, how much does a twin LNB work out at roughly?

Personally I would by a new MR CAM for the extra £15.00 m8!....and to be truthfull you wont be able to receive Supersport Greece etc even with a CAM! and no there is no FTA porn on 5'E only TV6 which is soft stuff!.....for porn check out this link :http://translate.google.com/translat...8%26oe%3DUTF-8 Also another good site to see what channels can be received on what satellites http://www.satcodx.com/uke/ those two should keep you busy for a while!

Cheers for that Waverider, you've been a great help. What kind of money are we talking for a Mr Cam, and what will I then be able to watch in the way of football or smut? How is a MR CAM superiour to a Merlin Cam, and can I still get Free XTV with this one?

Well the MR is the most popular with the file guys and cost's £80.00 (max) which is £15.00 more than you are looking to pay for a S/H Merlin! and yes you will be able to receive plenty of smut too!

LOL its Matrix Reloaded isn't it Answered my own question. What smut and footy can be picked up using one of these then?

Also will it be able to then receive any more Russian channels, aside from ORT and Planeta?

Because I need to convince the wife that it is a good investment, and as she is from Moscow, I can tell her that she will be able to watch a lot more Russian channels if we a) get a cam and a card
b) convert to a motorised dish

Which option do you recommend?

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

Go to This thread for Russian Channels. A motor will probably be necessary.

Ahh I see m8....Rolfw's link will provide you the answers m8!...once you have shown the misses that then you will have to sweet talk her into letting you buy a motorised system EE or better still see if she will buy one for your birthday

Dont do that

Get a simple twin feed digital system on Sirius and Hotbird for the loved one, and a HUGE motorised for yourself. Set up on two TVs at opposite ends of the house.

Nothing worse than an argument over the multi lingual evening entertainment

heh this satellite business is definately coming between us. Instead of cuddling up this morning, I went to check for replies on this thread
It certainly is addictive. Having read the Russian thread, I reckon I'll have to blag it and tell her that we'll find extra channels with a cam and a 6 in 1 card, and then start to save for a huge motorised dish in the future.

As long as I can get free footy from hotbird I'll be happy anyway What is the best channel on hotbird to watch, once I've put the card in?

cheers for your ongoing help guys, I really appreciate it.

Well for free footy on 13'E you have RAI1, TV5 Europe, TV5 Asia & RTP International but these mainly show foriegn footy!.....but if you pointed the dish at 5'E then you would receive TV Sport RO they broadcast Premiership.
