Basically in a nutshell its just installing dishes, aerials and setting up communal aerial systems

Best thing to do is apply for it and wait and see

My System: Smart lnb, 1m Gibby dish, Stab motor, TM1500CI+Super & TM5200D receivers, 57east to 61west. DTT from Sudbury. Virgin Media broadband.

One lives and learns. I did not know that the Inland Revenue Service (the tax man) had engineers working for them

My System: Various digiboxes, broken Nokia 9800S, numerous analogue boxes. My lovely little lappy, HP Omnibook 6100

The IRS is the American system. Ours used to be just IR, although it's now R&C (Revenue & Customs).

Just thought you'd like to know...

I like that linking it to the tax man

An Integrated Reception System (IRS) is a communal aerial system designed to carry digital signals and capable of providing residents with broadcast services from terrestrial and satellite sources .

Now you know

My System: 43cm Dish, Sky Plus, FRACARRO PENTA 85, Invacom Twin, Moteck SG2100a H-H DiSEqC Motor, TF5000CI, TM-5200D, Rover Discovery ST-4, Rover SDM-1s, 57E to 58W

Installing IRS systems is a skilled job and one would have to have the ability to understand system IRS networks. It's not a job that anyone can just do. I have seen those systems...

You will be put through training, you don't need to be qualified.

As long as you have a rough idea of what your doing you are in for a good chance of getting a job.

We work in teams and everyone who starts is gradually brought up to speed. You will probably start on Plating or cabling where most of the money is to be made. My mate that does the plating regulary picks up around £500 a week, so the oportunity is there if your willing to have a go.

Its not a difficult job once you grasp the basics.

Personally mate I wouldn't bother. I worked for them for 7 months until fortunately for me i was offered a job with a company that doesn't work you to death and actually thanks you for the work you have done

Working for Avonline nearly wrecked my marriage and made me question my capabilities in the job that i do.

The promised pay rise after 3 months never happened and the management constantly treat you like sh*t. Don't even go there if you know whats good for you
