looking to become an installer

Hi my name is Marc Lane I am 26 live in west sussex and I'm interested in becoming an installer but I'm not sure where to start as all the companies I've seen are only asking for people with 3 years experience. I know this job would suit me very well as I am one of them people who everybody asks to set up anything technical and have an extremely good understanding of technology, I am currently a builder so have no problems working outside and I passed the fire and rescue services occupational testing a few years ago which included a 13.5 meter ladder test. Any information would be gratefully received

Hello

If you can afford it contact the CAI (confederation of aerial industries).
They do basic and advanced aerial and satellite installation courses, an excellent grounding. Ask them to send an email to all of its members in your area, offering labouring help.

The other way is to apply to SKY ( www.sky.com/jobs) or one of its preferred partners, try www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk and put in satellite or aerial in the search box. Trouble hear is they only do satellite installs, a good engineer would not work for SKY long term, saying this I started there 15 yrs ago. Learn all you can.

Lastly have a look at AV companies, Audio Visual is huge and a growing market.

Good luck.
