Question Help with Technosat T-5000

Hi All,

I'm bit new to this section.

Recently I got a Technosat T-5000 FUTURE unit and I have tuned to Asiasat3S (I live in South Asia region). I see lot of tricky things going on regarding unlocking scrumbled channels and thinking of trying with my unit.

I have no much idea about where to find relevant KEYs and how to put those into my unit (using a PC or using the remote). Can anyone tell me a few site links so I can see. Also details on how to enter those KEYs.

Also let me know where to find undocumented secrets or this unit (hidden menus etc.)..

Thanks and regards,
-Vipul.

Question Technosat T-5000: Unlocking channels without S/W Updates

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I found some S/W for the Technosat brand but nothing for T-5000 model.

But I got a load of keys from several forums to unlock lot of channels. However is there any way to put them without any software updates.

Really appreciate if someone can give details on putting these keys via remote or via a PC without updating the unit's software.

Thanks,
-Vipul.

Just looking at the Asiasat 3S channel list

http://www.lyngsat.com/asia3s.html

You dont have much hope of finding keys - anything in Videoguard PowerVu Viaccess 2.5 or Conax is secure so you can forget any ideas of watching them without a subscription

Pay up or do without

Thanks for the info.

However my original question was about whether there is anything I can do with the remote in updating keys. Also any possibilities on updating keys using a PC (any S/W which I can use with this unit).

FYI: This unit (Technosat T-5000) was bought in UAE by a friend and sent to me. Also I have some difficulties on buying CAMs for this in my area. I went to the site (www.technosat-uae.com) but seems like this unit is not listed.

Seeing as theres no keys available for any of the channels on Asiasat theres no point taking the investigation any further.

I have no idea if you can update that receiver. Ive never used or even seen one. Its not even listed on the receiver bible:

http://www.satellite-heaven.de/Receiver/stb_me-ts.htm

so its probably obsolete.

Something for the T-5000 here (scroll down to item 50) -

Probably just a software update though.

Thanks everyone for the info.

One last thing.. about CAMs.

I saw there are modules like Dragon which has two units which are the module and the card and in their instructions they say to insert the module in to the STB .. etc. But my unit seems to have a slot which I assume that the module (the thicker one) will not going to fit.

Sites like *_http://www.lefdata.com/satellite/cam/_* has mentioned about "CI Modules" and "CA Modules". Really appreciate if can give some details.

(sorry if the above are really dumb ones to ask)

If your receiver doesn't have a CI module slot, then you're stuck with using cards only.

Unless you can patch the box to allow the opening of encrypted services, but I know nothing of the box, so can't help there.
