softcam setup

Could someone please clarify.
I have a diablo cam on which I frequently download the latest keys bins that are available and have had some moderate success.
However I am not sure about the softcams that are available.
Do I download these to the Diablo cam to the same area as the keys bin or do I only load either the keys bin or the softcam and not both.
And finaly what is the function of a softcam.
It would be a great help as I have not read anything that puts it in simple terms for a novice like myself.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

There is no softcam file for the Diablo Light Cam.
If you have the Diablo 2.3 cam you load underworld129.dup, you then load the updatede data bin file with the updated Conax keys, finally if required you can update the keys.bin file.
If you have the Diablo 2.2 Cam you do not need to update the data bin file.
If you have the wireless version of the Diablo Cam, with the Base Unit connected to your PC, then you can use Fausto 1.30 to update keys.
