NEWBIE: Wat is all this CAM/CAS & KEY stuff?

Hey

Wat is all this stuff about CAM etc? By the looks of it its a way of getting digital channels for free- am i wrong? At least ive seen loads about Italian sky digital!?

I have a UK Sky Digital box and dish so if i bought this stuff your on about, what extras does it give me? I'm not after free channels i jsut wanna no what this stuff is- its pricy so it must be good!

I wont be surprised if no-body replies but a link to a site that will tell me would be nice!!

None of this technology is going to expand or improve your existing digibox. Think of that more like a 'black box'.

A CAM is a 'Conditional Access Module' which allows access to other groups of channels broadcast with different encryption systems. Most require a smartcard as well.
