The Television Close Down And Start Up Blog

The Television Close Down And Start Up Blog

It's a blog on start up and close downs of various international broadcasters.

I have been planning this blog in my head for some time, but have now finally decided to go ahead with it.

Hope Im not braking any rules by posting this, but I want to judge peoples idea and judgement basically.

Also any channels you guys have seen closing down at night or starting up in the morning.

Cheers!

I just hope that you will not run into any copyright infringements problems from the broadcaters without their permission. Although it is a kind of advertising for them.

Looking good so far remlap

Duna II Autonomia have a closedown sequence about 2300 uk time - they go from the weather into a national anthem sung by a massed choir. At the end of this they go into thei overnight space segment rather than actually closing down

Yep I have it, I'm spacing out ones I have so I can keep the blog going for as long as possible.

In the early 90's I did like the closedown for Premier (Channel 9 I think ) on the first Astra satellite.

And then there was the fit bird doing some amazing aerobics on one of the other German channels (RTL ?), just before cosedown.

Must dig out the Betamax tapes again soon

Hi Remlap,

Great work on the blog! I have tried to contact you via the contact method on you blog, but for some reason the message page wont load.

I can supply you with some content from the Asia-Pacific, what video format would you prefer me to supply the videos in?

To get an idea of a video project I am currently working on surf over to my website:

http://www.satdirectory.com

THEN enter the HIDDEN beta video player by clicking on the grey "beta" text just below the search button below the Satdirectory home page banner.

To station openings to watch are:

CCTV-7 China - Chinasat 6B
VTV1 Vietnam - Vinasat 1

In all I have about 11 hours of video at the moment. The player will be offically launching in August.

Cheers,
Mark
