Well gameboy, that comment certainly reflects my opinion. Ive been on the site for a while, and was very proud to be given mod status here as this forum is one of the friendliest Ive come across.. Everybody here works hard to help the newcomers to the hobby - we were all new to it once.

My System: Sky HD, Manhattan Plaza ST550 and TM1500 CI+. 1.0m dish and 36v motor, Panasonic DVD HDD recorder and Panasonic video/DVD recorder. Sony G800 HD TV stand/surround system + Sony KDL40W2000. Infinity USB, Elvis, CAS1, CAS2.

I agree with you both. I doodled around like daveenty for a few years. Still got my original hardware Filmnet decoder in the loft. Yep I was busy with family and work but through my job in IT maintained an interest in sat stuff. Gradually became more interested in the hobby and then more active. Found this site and I was impressed with the quality. Rolf asked me to mod and the rest is history ( as they say).

I also mod on Toes which is a different kettle of fish to here but has it's own 'unique' qualities.

I try to get the right balance between helping ppl who have serious questions on either site and having fun which is what the hobby should be. I never mix the two sites though, treating them as separate entities.

Look at the timestamps on the posts

The bandwidth costs will have been horrendous for files site serving 100,000+ hits a day.

Even the bandwidth costs here with no files are pretty horrible...
