My System: Dreambox 7000, Skystar2

Happened a couple of times with me. Couldn't register. Next day it was back to normal (no reg).

Got an email from Toe saying that it was to close on Jan 10 (I think) anyway.

Doesn't mean to say that it will of course!

Toe is due a lot of respect, but if it goes subscription only with no files avalable, it will surely fold.

Bit selfish here - after the last trouble we have found a lot of new members that have been a great addition.

So long as everyone obeys the rules this site can only continue to grow.

Ive never been one for obeying rules, but in this hobby sticking to the real McCoy would mean no hobby.

Its not something I would want to dwell on for long, head might explode.

from what i can tell there'll be no public files on toes, but they'll be there for people who've paid. whic is pretty fair to me, especially as the amount they seem to be askin for is a lot less than a basic sub to sky digital or whatever would be each month (i think it works out around a fiver a month)

Hi,

It's easy to comment from this side of the fence
Beeing saddled up with bills of the magnitude the Den and ****files had on the other side of the fence is an totally different matter.

107.000 hits an day will generate an lot of traffic that has to be paid for, specially **** that was visited by people from everywhere from all boards.
Admins/mods have tried everything to keep things as they were, but the maths are simple, more going out as coming in = bust.

It's easy to talk about it as an hobby as user of the **** files
It is less easy having 23000 pounds to pay in one year.....

I don't think anyone disagrees about how much it costs or whether it should go subscription. If it serves files, then it should go subscription and the fees should cover the cost. I hope it does work out, as the alternative is nothing.

I personally can't afford to donate to more than one forum, but one thing is sure - we all gotta have a place to call home.

I just hope that Toe doesn't feel bad about it, as I know it wasn't his dream to have it this way.

In the sat-world, like any other, business forces will dictate the way forward.

I hope all works out well for Toe, he has worked hard to keep two boards running. If I can, I will pay, as no files = no hobby.

I pay here...But this is home, same as the DEN may be home to Cor. We all have a place we call home, but I do wish Toe, his Admin and Mods all the best.

It's illegal to post keys here, if you do, the site will be shut down. You cannot post keys here. You will find many links to sites that carry keys in Nobblies Big Links forum, accessable from our main page. We say this every day.

The information required to programme most cams and cards is given out on a couple of sections of this forum, or have I followed the wrong URL again?

As for forking out £500 for a Humax and dish with card (not sure why you went for Matrix CAM as well) it seems that someone has received funds from you , and in those circumstances should follow up with at the very least the initial help you might need. If not, then you have bought from the wrong person, send it back for a full refund.

As for sticking copied DVDs, your hearts in the right place, its just your grey matter that requires a jumpstart. You could have downloaded most of whats on offer from one of the Torrent type sites with a little forethought, if film entertainment is your thing.

Information I have gleamed from friend that is a member of Toe's

Toe was visited by the powers that be 4 days befor christmass hence the reason for closing F***files and the den.
To save Toe from being the sole owner of the den it was decided to offer shares to any member that was willing to pay a subscription that would allow access to some restricted parts of the forum.

Some of the above posters may find themselfs banned soon, if I see any more posts like the one above.

This is wearing a bit thin now.

This is a hobby site devoted to things to do with satellite reception.
NOT a free 'We will get all your channels cleared for you' site and say thanks for it.

If all you need is keys then the time you spent dissin this forum you could have been chasing the thing you're after on the WWW.

Well the truth be known, when most of us here started in sat TV, we scanned the web for files which may I add is very...very easy to do.....Ever used Google? (just type in sat files!) The problem today is although we provide 'Nobbly Big Links' which are and is a very good start and pointer, people still post here insisting to be breast fed!

I feel we make things very clear on this forum that no keys will be posted and the rules are very clear for those whom are bothered to read them. However on this forum it is about discussing satellite issues and problems where answers are returned with friendly advice.

Also within this forum, there are many topics to view and post, covering popular topics
which most new and regular members alike find refreshing, unlike other forums out there that I would describe as very drab.

So to bring this to a conclusion any people you see here whom names are in Red or Blue have the power to either: Edit, Move, Delete or should the offence fit BAN YOU!

So its quite simple.....don't post keys or entice people to!

Errr... me too!!

Everyones opinion is welcome, as long as it's not offensive. We're not the kind of forum to censor and ban willy-nilly, but if folks want to disrupt the forum and cause offence to other members, then so be it.

Now take a step back. If you don't like it here, then don't visit!

This is one of the best forums on the planet.
I dont know the range of ages or jobs but they are extreme and yet it works 1000%. Because there is respect and a mutual wish to help. And a kind of kinship/friendship. Any site that posts keys runs the chance it will be shut down. All it needs is for some TV provider like C+ to phone the ISP and say "I dont like that site; shut it." The ISP will not give the site a chance, they will just shut it for peace and quiet. Then the site members spend a week in headless chicken mode while the real heroes of the site find a new home. We dont have that crap.
If you need anything outside the rules of the board, you can always ask for more detailed help via a PM. But anyone who cant find the file-sites isnt even getting out of bed.

My System: Plaza ST550 Dragon 4.1, Cas2 + Add on. Mastera card progger. Lots of Ice Scrapers :-)

Just like to add a bit here. I don't spend a lot of time on this site, though try to visit when I can. I'm quite new here as well, though not to the scene.
When I first started, I had a Astra/Hotbird set up (with Eurotica card) Yeah, analogue.
I then went the whole hog, put another dish up at 1W and got a d2mac decoder!
The point is, to get Filmnet & TV1000 then, I had to take (or send) my card to be programmed. I didn't even have an internet connection. Used to cost about a fiver a time IIRC.
When I eventually got on the internet (on a 33.6 modem) I spent hours searching for sat sites, following links and ended up in places like this (a lot worse then though)
I am not a *tefal head* and would not class myself as above average intelligence. I just mooched around. I lost interest a few years ago due to family and work commitments, but came back about 18months ago. I have a nice little set up here, which I had to learn myself, and programme my own cams, cards and boxes. What I'm trying to say is, the information is out there, just needs sorting out.
Everything I've needed to know I've found on this board and others like it.

Good grief, sorry about this, I seem to have ranted a bit. (feel free to edit/delete Admin!!)

No way - think you've hit the nail on the head.

Only a short time ago I came to this site and it's the best on the Net. Best people, best chat, best forums.

That's my opinion Chris and Rolfw have found the formula - hopefully no slagging, etc that i have found on other sites.

That's why we take it to heart when new members, who are not willing to put any effort into helping themselves, slag this site off.

You're welcome to disagree - it's like TV, switch off or don't come back.

Everyone is welcome just put some effort in.

This is my opinion and may not reflect others on this site.

Don't let them vote with their feet just make sure and pull their plug. Nobody wants to have unpolite, disrespective people in amongst such a good bunch of members. The admins should just revoke their membership at once. I have visited a number of sites which I would never consider returning to as they are just full of this type of negative people who cannot be bothered to search using Google, they expect everyone else to hand it to then on a plate and give nothing but hassle in return. Gameboy is correct Chris and Rolfw have found the right formula and long may it continue
