Softcam ????

Hiya folks

When i want to update my MR i do it by downloading the .upd file and then update it via laptop but whats this softcam.key file and how do you use it. do bare in mind i only have a lappy of a way of updating my cam cheers.

Okay thanks for the info appreciated this is what ive done now i dont know if ive doen it right as it was my first time and no instruction so do push me in the right direction i got hold the prog called sep v1.2 opened it clicked load and loaded my upd file it listed all the providers and sat's and decoders and then i click merge and it asked me to point to a softcam file wich i did and then it said 21 keys updated then i saved it as a new.upd file for records now the upd file i had was released on 10-05-2004 and the softcam file i had was released on 14-05-2004 so you reckon i did everything right please if you could get abck cheers.

Sounds like you did it right; you may be better off starting with an UPD from MR 1.081 which has just been released, so you'll get the taquilla's working at 19E.

And there may be very few keys need changing in MR 1.081.

Okay nice one so much appreciated only one last question left i always use mr 1.08upd released by shadow now is there a difference in 1.08 and 1.081 or are they same thing.

MR 1.081 has been modified so it will work with Seca provider 0067 (Taquillas 1-10 of Digital Plus on 19E), so I think it is different from MR 1.080 updates (ie. it is more than just key changes).

It might be worth starting with the 1.081 and then using a softcam file from 16 May (seems to be the latest), and seeing what keys have changed.

Yep thats exactly what i went with mr 1.081 and the softcam file from 16 may said 6 keys changed so was all good only got in like about 20 mins ago and did a scan on 13.0 hotbird i picked up 928 or prob 938 channels havnt gone through all very tired so am gonna check it out tomorrow so much appreciated for the help and info mate thankyou.

dont forget to change the provider 000064 id to 000000 after having updated your MR to 1.081 inorder to get Taquilla 1-10 working on 19 degrees.
1.go into the cam menu
2.edit cas key
3.seca3
4.select prov ID 000064
5.click on top line (0x000000) and key in 3 sets of zeros (000 000 000)
6.click on save

NB: do not change the 0c , 0d , and 0d keys !! just the top line(0x000000)

now you should see the provider id changed from 000064 to 000000 !
if at a later date you want to change the provider id back to 000064 ...
follow the same procedure as above and type in (000 000 100).

Ahhhhh nice one no wonder i couldnt get any tequillas when i checked this morning thought id done somit wrong so will go do that update there thanks alot soooo much appreciated.

could be that your version of mr 1.081 is corrupt or s/thing , it works perfect for me . try downloading it from a reputable site like SATAID . join the forum after registering

PS: are you erasing your MR cam before updating it?

Okay i did everything all over again but still no luck but when i was sitting there i decided to press set default key and then when i was flicking thorugh the chans my tequillas were working so am well chuffed thanks man appreciated.
