Smile Hello

to the forum tyocoboo

Well we have similar stb's but I do not have the MR cam. I have done a bit of research on this error but am unable to find anything myself. Perhaps it would help if you are more explicit as to the precise time you get this message.

1 I'm insert th matrix cam revolutions in my laptop -> bip ok
2 I start Ucas Downloader Tool 1.2
3 In the menu I click Settings -> Pcmcia -> CAM 0
4 I'm select my Firmware (mrv225.upd)
5 I click Download Now !
6 I have a message box "Sorry, an error occured while downloading! Please, re-insert the CAM and try again"
In the text box "Firmware rejected : Serial ID not allowed
Device not ready. Try to re-insert the CAM"

I'm try with another firmware -> same result

Ok

Well if that option is no longer available to you then the only thing you can possibly do is invest in a CAS 3 interface I believe. The problem with updating with laptop is that it seems to have never been perfected and is very hit and miss. I have never been able to with my cam as I would have upgraded by now yet some laptops breeze through it first time. When I read posts like this I do sometimes wonder if the manufacturers deliberately spike the software to stop it being done witha laptop. I think I read a post a few months ago about someone who went back to an earlier version and had success or they may have wiped the disk and started again I cannot remember. Hopefully someone else will have some advice for you.

tyocoboo m8ey,

if the Ucas Downloader isn't detecting your cam properly

then how would you put "Ucas downloader tools" or an older version"
onto cam.
you need either cas2 or cas3 as toppervte33h has said
or someone near you with a cas2/3 to reprogram the cam.

i'd do it for you but i'm in liverpool - UK

regards

Confusing replies...

Hi
Some that replied to this thread suggested that the PCMCIA interface was probably not working.
tyocoboo's problem is however NOT that the hardware fails but that the software doesn't properly work. I have exactly the same problem; up till now the MRV updates worked great, but after one MRB upgrade the downloader refuses to go back to an MRV file due to a "Firmware rejected; serial ID not allowed." message.
Indeed if someone can point to a working download tool (or the sources of this one) it would be much appreciated.

bye
Peter.

I know of another person that has had exactly the same trouble (and this week only ). Running Win XP and the previous loader you suggest, there has been no issue with updating MR and MRV Cams in the past, so I am assuming that unless Microsoft have updated the XP using the usual updates, preventing the access to PCMCIA modules that have no authorised signature, then the MRB firmware on the CAM is not upgradeable a second time via a laptop.

Have you access to a MR/MRV CAM that does not have the MRB firmware in it ?

it would appear that the hardware has failed since it has been tried in two different laptops

and because it's failed the Ucas Downloader isn't detecting the cam properly.
the only solution is to re flash the cam with MR software
using either cas2 or cas3

Thanks Spider,
but how does one reflash the MRV with a new UCAS?

I'm willing to try everything if it gets me my MRV back in the original state.

bye

Getting the Matrix Revolutions CAM back to default.

The MRV comes standard with UCAS3.1.
So that's where I want to get back to.

I only have a Laptop with PCMCIA interface

if cam cannot be re programmed via laptop
using loader proggie then the only alternative
is to get a cas2 or cas3.
you then erase all, then load new MRV Firmware.

and don't touch the Xilinx

iv'e dont it loads of times for ppl in your situation
but Luxembourg's a bit far

so invest in one m8ey

best regards

Serial ID not allowed

Hi
I had the same problem. Which SW is on your CAM? I have a MRV and I played the mrb300 for MR and MRV and than I became the same message. So You can upload with the UCAS Loader the zcas2ucas.upd file then try it on your reciever it should say that is no card installed after then you can upload the mrv2.** upd. file.
Here are the files attached.

MRV file removed as contains keys, I suggest that you read the rules before posting again otherwise you will be banned
Attached Files
File Type: zip zcas2ucas.zip (1.04 MB, 153 views)
File Type: zip loader_setup.zip (765.3 KB, 117 views)
