Really cheap LNB

The other day my LNB started to play up. When I had a look I found that the protection cap was completely falling apart, the plastic was literally turning into dust - even though it is only 6 years old...anyways, i went into Ebay , typed in LNB and found a lot of them on offer. In the end I picked up this one, a 0.1 db single LNB for slightly over 12 €, this includes shipping!!!! It was from a dealer who has a few more of these, and for this price I thought what the hell lets try it out. By the time I drive half an hour to the stores it will cost me that in fuel.
When it arrived, it was indeed new, had an additional F connector and protecting sleeve included. What can I say, I plugged it in and it works. Hard to tell if it much better than the old one, but it is for sure cheaper. Hurray to Ebay and cheap sat components!!!!

I've got 4x Lidl LNBs, which I got a couple of weeks ago, left over from their last specials, haven't a clue why I got them though....

My System: Motorised dish, dvd players and recorders; a freeview box, broadband, VCRs, four TVs, mobiles, pcs, a mac, Ipod, digital cameras...the lot!

I had a load a year or so back, but I chucked them out. I'd acquired them over the years. I think they were still working but couldn't be harsed to sell them.

And I'd never deal with Ebay . They once ripped me off with 60 quid admin charge and they never sold the item I had for sale.

£60 charge??? Ouch!!! That's why I personally never sell really expensive things, you never know what Ebay 's going to charge you in fees until you've listed the item....

As for my LNBs, I haven't a clue what I'll do with them, my dishes are all ok for LNBs, and I'm not planning on getting any more dihes in the near future, I guess I'll just Ebay them...

Ah well, hindsight is a wonderful thing. But living in a small village does tend to make me look up things on the Internet first. Also I am lazy and it is far easier to buy online then to go out

Well at the end of the day, you are not going to find Ebay box shifters selling really specialist kit like the Andrews feedhorn. Depending on what I'm buying, I often shy away from the cheapest Ebay price and go for a reliable Etailer, as the aftersales support can be questionable from box shifters.

It would also be nice to think that UK members in particular, take a look at our supporting advertisers for their gear, it may not always be as cheap as the faceless Ebay sellers, but they help to keep the forum up and running and can offer product guarantees.

It was a disgrace, m8. I wanted to sell this item and left the price open, so that could have been £2 or £30. It didn't sell I am was whacked this £60 charge...(taken from my credit card )...

...made up of advert cost, admin, VAT, and something else. It was my one and only :Ebay: experience and never again. I wouldn't even buy anything on there.

I tried the advertisers for most items. If the price was competitive I bought the item. Only one advertiser appeared to be useless by not replying to e mails and answering the phone. I only found one place for the Andrews reedhorn and lnb and admit whilst not cheap they were very efficient and helpfull.
