I would doubt it but I am not an installer. it is not advisable to fix anything to your chimney stack especially something that increases wind shear on the stack

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

Unless they are sending the special heights team, they are unlikely to venture onto the roof. Is there any particular reason why you want it up there?

You couldn't. if there's an electrical fault in either house, the LNB will have a lot of power go through it and blow up both boxes and the LNB too, aswell as start a fire and do a lot of damage to one of the houses, and I'm sure someone wouldn't be happy with this site if that happened...

But over here we do a lot of jobs involving sharing of 3m dishes up to 4 houses on a quad lnb. And we do have some big storms (yes lnbs and digiboxes blow up) and fluctuating mains voltage and power cuts.

So fit a quad(4 output) LNB on that dish.2 cables for the sky plus,1 for your pc and a spare one.But the dish will have to stay at the sky position.

It's something I read on a website somewhere (maybe analoguesat's perhaps?), but seeing how 2 houses run off 2 different power lines, something technical happens through the satellite cables and boom, things go bad...

Electrical regulations where you are must be more relaxed than they are here in the UK, it's amazing how some countries' power grids haven't melted away!!!

The fitter could be subbing for sky so used to heights. He gets paid by sky when he gets your card activated. Maybe you could bung him something to get the dish where you want but that would depend on what time he has.
