Ebay description errors

Been looking through this morning and was surprised at how many incorrect or misleading descriptions there are on items.

Example: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...category=29784 quoted as being a Digibox and implying that it is capable of receiving Sky.

My System: Various digiboxes, broken Nokia 9800S, numerous analogue boxes. My lovely little lappy, HP Omnibook 6100

Perhaps I am too trusting of humanity in general but it looks as though it may be genuine error.

There is so much information in the photos - a yellow card, the words "videocrypt", etc - that I can't believe that someone is deliberatley trying to mislead a potential purchaser.

That's not to say that there aren't others who do want to rip you off of course!

I've E-mailed him and told him, but looks like it is academic, as nobody is bidding. In fairness though, the guy does have a good feedback record.

It is indeed a satellite receiver, but it is very definitely not a
FERGUSON SATELLITE RECEIVER DECODER (DIGIBOX)
It is an old analogue receiver and will not receive any digital channels whatsoever, so a complete novice may bid on this, expecting to receive sky digital with it.
