A (very) near miss for a Lufthansa A380 at Hamburg. 1st March 2008 The plane landed safely a few minutes later with no injuries. | ||

That did look bad... It always amazes me how they fly at an angle in a strong crosswind I always remember those types of maths questions where you row across a river but the current is flowing right to left and you end up reaching the other side two miles downstream, this is a similar sort of effect | ||

A heavy landing than hard on the brakes. When the plane turned round we discovered its not a place to overshoot - If you go off the end of the runway theres a fence, then you have a small road then a 40 foot drop off a cliff onto a beach! | ||

My System: Mostly gathering dust cos there's no room for dishes here... :( The Sleepy Hollow pollracle has spoken! | I remember being on a flight from France to Teeside airport that landed like that, not as extreme, but still very scary...  Youd have thought that due tothe weather they'd have found an alternative airport to land at, to se winds looked dangerous!!! | ||
