Its time to secure your dish ready for Monday

Image automatically updates every hour, keep an eye on the three digit number at the centre of the depression. 930 or lower is predicted.

You could always give them a helping hand during the night.

The two cyclones either side of Iceland will be joining up in about three hours, and one big jobbie moves across the UK from about 8pm tonight.
South Wales is thought to be one of the main areas to get the worst, so hopefully the DVLA offices will disappear.

Stock up on the beers this afternoon.

Cyclone centres have now joined up over Iceland, the barometer in the hall is now slowly counting down.

First potential shipping warnings of a hurricane for the coastal area of Shannon

Wind West 5 to 7 backing south gale 8 to storm 10 then veering northwest severe gale 9 to violent storm 11, perhaps hurricane force 12 later.
Sea State High becoming very high or phenomenal.
Weather Rain or showers.
Visibility Good becoming very poor.

Update - Confirmed hurricane force 12 in Shannon very soon.

Southerly storm force 10 imminent, veering westerly and increasing hurricane force 12 soon

and the high tides of most Western regions are between 6am and 9am tomorrow, time to find those waders.

Well I'd threatened to get up on the roof and shorten our aerial mast, as it no longer needs to be 10ft since removing the Crystal Palace aerial. Actually pulled my finger out earlier and took it down, cut just over a metre off and put it back up, I'm sure that the chimney will be just that little bit safer for tonight's winds.

Better knock all your chairs over while you are at it.

Our barometer has fallen from 55 to 50 in the past hour.

A link that shows roughly what is about to happen.

_http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/surface_pressure.html

The low pressure above Iceland is collecting a set of smaller depressions presently about 400 miles off the Irish coast into one, and sling the resulting group onto the UK early morning in two weather fronts. So highest winds are expected in the South at around 3 - 6 am and high rain from about 1am.

Expect severe disruption on all UK flights and probably the rail networks.

Well, all is calm here, but I guess that'll not last...

As for my Leylandii, they're tough b*stards, only a saw would "help" them fall down...

Last time I saw a chainsaw fly, it left the hands of a local thieving sod and landed in the back of a transit pickup...

You might find the place deserted as there are reports of evacuating some parts of Wales

I missed the bit earlier about the Spring tide coinciding on Monday

Going out to collect my bins

Just out of curiosity, how much would it cost for a new lashing kit and mast to be fitted on my chimney (seeing how the old lashing's a bit dodgy and the mast is totally knackered)?

Not sure in your area, probably a lot cheaper than down here.

Good just they do not come around and check like the do in my old area as any aerial mast on a house over 180cm needs planning permission
