Does china (during the tibet protests that are currently happening) jam just the cable channels when they mention tibet or do they have the technology to jam satellite frequencies? | ||

My System: Various digiboxes, broken Nokia 9800S, numerous analogue boxes. My lovely little lappy, HP Omnibook 6100 | I think it's just the cable channels that get blocked. Satellites channels can be blocked - I seem to remember something in the middle east being jammed a few years ago. I think it's done just by pumping a massive signal at the satellite to overpower the normal one. Both transmitters have to be more or less in the same area in order to be accepted by the satellite. Oh, and of course, everyone loses the retransmitted signal from the satellite as it is true jamming.

| If news is being transmitted by a minority channel, the Chinese will have something they can point at the satellite that will probably ignite it in orbit.
