Yes, chancing scum like that need to be hounded off Ebay .

When we make these guides and help people it is done for free, we expect nothing for it, so we certainly don't expect someone else to try and make money from it.

Not only that, but £1.89 postage for four or five A4 pages?

Crumbs, Ebay moved quickly on that one.

"The seller ended this listing early because of an error in the listing."

Glad you got closure on that one Rolf. What a chancer.

At least it flatters you that your guide is worthy of distribution at a price

I don't think Ebay did anything, the seller removed it himself, maybe he was told that he must.

Looking at the other stuff he sells, it looks like he is a house clearance or car booter so I do not understand why he would do that, still a tosser though for trying

Well it turns out that the guy is a member here and he claims that he didn't get the guide from here, but RDi forum and assumed that it was in the public domain, strange how he has actually posted twice in the thread with the guide, it also has the Satellites.co.uk watermark on the photos. But in truth, it doesn't matter where he got it from, he had no right to resell it.

He is upset that I reported him to Ebay and is threatening to sue me under the UK slander laws (I think he means Libel) if I do not remove my comments, as he objects to being called a chancing scumbag for trying to sell something which he hasn't written, doesn't own and which was designed to be freely available for someone to download.

Well I'm not withdrawing that comment as I think it is entirely justified, just because something is in the public domain, doesn't mean that you have the right to resell it and in fact, intellectual property rights apply just as much on the internet as anywhere else. I didn't write the guide for someone to make money out of it, it was for the free use of any satellite hobbyist.

Spotted by accident Allan, was looking for large dishes, but will keep my eyes open in future and would ask all members to do the same.

What a cheeky git!!! That's like taking a pack of free info leaflets from a shop or something and selling them on for a premium!!! The only "slander" I see here is the git selling something that he basically stole!!!

He has no leg to stand on instigating a defamation (slander or libel) action. If he is daft enough to go ahead with an action, he opens himself to the possibility of a counterclaim.
