Abie Nathan, the well known Israeli peace pioneer died yesterday at the age of 81.
He operated a pirate radio station ship called "The Voice of Peace" which broadcasted peace messages and music round the clock.

Muhuhuhahahahahaaaaarrrgggh

RIP Abie
I remember listening to the station, had the best music in the 70ies...
Their station announcement was something like "This is the voice of peace broadcasting on 1540 Megaherz or 101 on your FM dial"
Happy days...

Ah

Very sad indeed but invokes lots of happy memories

A pioneer indeed, I spent many an hour driving a tractor up and down a 1.6Km field listening to Abie.
Sadly missed fondly remembered
