My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 6 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/10E/13E/16E/ 19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

10E - Eutelsat W2A reception report

Spent yesterday evening redoing my new 9/10E dish - massive improvements after I realised the bloody hedge was in the way and the dish needed moving a couple of feet!

Using the flysat W2A list:

_http://www.flysat.com/eutelsatw2a.php

UP4 10970V

SNR80%
AGC 99%
BER 300-1300

Also received:

Aha feed 11061V (black screen when checked)
Al Jazeera 11141H
Noursat 11165H
Beladi 11179H
Sat 7 11181H
Eurotic TV 11187V
Suroya/French Lover/XDream 11190V
Al Ahd 11624V
Reform TV 12507V
MGM mux 12611H (all scrambled)
Disney 12684V (scrambled)

Payam TV 11171H added as well. This one only just locks

The BER is horrible on it:

SNR 73%
AGC 99%
BER 15000!

Added late last night:

Adjara TV 11160H. Its unwatchable due to extreme picture jitter but its definitely the Adjara logo lower right

Not bad considering this is one of the scruffy old very second hand 80 cm dishes.

So far have failed to log

ANB 11144H
Syria 11148H
Al Forat 11174H.

Al Forat is a difficult one as its only 3MHz from Payam TV and uses the same SR FEC and pids.......

I'll maybe try the TM over the summer when Ive got a few minutes.

A 1m would probably help, but I dont have a spare one lying around - the 80cm was one of the spare ones I had lying around blocking up holes in the hedge

I believe in minimal expenditure on equipment as far as possible

Finally added ANB on 11144H 2441 2/3. Full strength here so must be intermittent.

Good stuff - Syria logged as well

11148 H
2894 3/4

And after a bit of off frequency tuning Al Forat

11174H 2532 3/4.

All DVB-S broadcast channels now received on an 80cm dish

My System: Technomate 5200D 80cm motorised
Reception of 10E

OK, this is my 1st post here. If I have posted in the wrong place then apologies.

I have a 80cm dish and motor (fairly new install) and have no trouble with satellites from 58w to 53e. 10e is the only sat that I cannot see much on. Am currently seeing only 1 signal (IHA on 11.061V). I'm located 20 miles east of London. Should I be able to see more from here? Looking at the footprint on Lyngsat,I thought that I should.

Any ideas or suggestions please?

My System: Triax 1.1m and Orbital 80cm Motorised Dishes. Various fixed Dishes. Eclectic selection of Digital and Analogue Receivers. Complex switching and distribution that SWMBO cannot fathom. Nor me.

Welcome to the Forum!

No, you'll never see more than a handful of Channels with that size Dish.

Those that you can get are often not permanent ie Associated Press News Feeds etc.

Thanks for the info. What dish size would you suggest, as I am really interested in seeing the feeds on this satellite.

As well as my own 80cm, l I have a 1.1m , which performs acceptably well on 10E: But I'm in North Yorkshire, so hopefully someone closer to your own location may better able to advise

I can see most of the feeds on 10E with an 80cm dish here in south eastern Scotland

Ive been logging the sports feeds I find:

http://www.satellites.co.uk/satellit...feeds-section/

Be aware that at least half the feeds here are DVB-S2 and not receivable on most hobby level equipment

Tyhe feeds Ive logged are DVB-S so anyone can watch them.

ALso please note that quite a few of the tv channels have ceased off W2A in the last few weeks. Adjara has gone, as well as Eurotic/Suroya/French Lover/XDream.

UP4 is distinclty errartic and comes and goes.

Thanks to both of you for your help.

The log looks very interesting Analoguesat. I'll keep an eye on it and give some of the feeds a go.

I appreciate the help,

Im watching mini racing from Silverstone on 11099V at the moment - was highly amused when one ended up on its roof!

Try tuning in Al Jazeera or Al Ahd - they are nice strong signals.
