RTE IPTV streams.

Does anyone outside of Ireland care to test these streams?

RTE 1 mms://live2.wm.rte.servecast.net/rte_wmlz_rte1-450.wmv
RTE 2 mms://live2.wm.rte.servecast.net/rte_wmlz_rte2-450.wmv

I've tried here in ROI via an international proxy server. I get the file giving the stream details for your media player, so its not blocked internationally at that level. I'm just not sure that the stream is receivable outside the country.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if they have implemented filtering for international IP addresses at the level where a user attempts to connect via a web page, but neglected to do it for the actual stream source.

It could prove handy for GAA fans or expats looking to keep up with 'The News'. Apart from an early look at lost and the odd other American TV series, there's not much of interest there for the rest of you foreigners

Maybe not long now that when you google 'RTE IPTV' this thread is second in googles list. Right after the thread Analoguesat started on techwatch.

Seems down at the moment, what are these streams? Maybe it was something to do with Election 09? I liked them and would even be happy to pay a sub.

Might contact RTE Publishing in a month or so if they don't return.

It shows what is possible from RTE if the will is there.

They may well be intermittent - I saw them about 6 months ago and they were working then although I dont know the later status of them

If you contact them you are likely to just be told the rights issues mean that you arent supposed to watch them anyway!

Maybe RTE have realized people are on to it and removed the strams.

I blame Analoguesat, if he hadn't posted it on Techwatch they'd never have known.

RTE's radio streams have been troublesome for the past week or so. The connection keeps dropping. They may be working on the servers. (or it could be totally unrelated )
