Michael Jackson detractors thread.

Anyone dying is sad I suppose.

But I for one won't really miss him. Didn't like his music (some of the Jackson 5 stuff is good though), his crotch grabbing dances, the fact that most of his moves were directly copied from James Brown (including the Moonwalk I believe) and all the craziness of his life. I did not like the way he thought of himsef as holy, and that he could get away with anything because of his money. He wasted his talents and all the money he made.

But most sickening is that most prefer to ignore that this guy was a child molester, and in my eyes the likes of him and Garry Glitter are simply scum no matter how rich, famous or dead they are.

Sorry, but that's what I think.

Says who? This was never proven. There were plenty of allegations and not much else. But, saying that I'd never have let a child stay over with him.

I have seen recently a report about him on TV, can't remember which one it was, and the people who used to work for him were saying pretty conclusive stuff. I don't care if he was aquitted by court in the us; some of the boys suddenly withdrew their charges because they were paid off. I for one believe he did it, and got away with it because he was rich and famous.

"But, saying that I'd never have let a child stay over with him" this says it all really. I wouldn't and any normal parent wouldn't, unless they were money grabbing barstewards pimping their own child, hoping for a windfall.

He was a seriously disturbed thing, that's for sure. Even if he was a trapped child, that still did not give him the right to sexually assault other children. What riles me is that if it had been anybody else, they would have been in jail doing the moonwalk for a big hairy convict. The system failed all those boys he molested after the first case was dismissed - they are the victims and not him. Personally I don't have an inch of pity for him, and all those saying he wasn't convicted - well, ask yourself would you have allowed your 8 year old boy to spend any time alone with him?

Well, I think that in any case it would take a big turnaround for me to be able to go though university and get work in the US justice system. Bit too old for that.

But the isue is that: You call it justice system, and in my opinion justice wasn't done. Do you seriously want to claim that if he wasn't Michael Jackson but a midle aged black man from LA that he would have been aquitted? Come on....

I find it noble that you you completely trust the US justice system, but it seems rich people get off with murder there. I would dare to say that he probably would not have got his aquittal in most European courts. I have nothing against the USA, or it's culture or justice system. But it has a serious flaw if MJ could do what he did without jail time or mental treatment.

I think that may just be the point, it is not our system we are talking about here is is a flawed American system that let's actors get away with murder, only to have them do the same again a few years later. As for heresay, money can buy silence in America.

Neither the British nor Irish justice systems are anywhere near perfect either, flawed they may be but as in the US they are all we have.

I have no idea whether or not Jackson did what he was accused of.

I just dont like the idea of stating that someone was/is this or that based on allegations that were never proven.

There was a recent case here in Ireland where a man was finally cleared of allegations that he had interfered with a minor. He was never convicted of it, but the sh*t still stuck.

10 years later his accuser (now a woman in her late 20s) returned to Ireland and confessed that she had made the whole thing up. This was of little comfort to a man who's life had been ruined by her childish behavior.

Yes, there are always cases of people getting wrong convictions and acquittals. But this thing was accused several times of the same crime, by different children. I can imagine there were a few others who did not complain out of shame, or maybe they were paid off even before it came to court.

Maybe I am wrong, there is no way of knowing 100% but my gut instinct tells me he was guilty. The reports and interviews I have seen over the past years all indicate that while he was never legally convicted he surely must have been guilty of molesting children. I can accept many things but that type of crime for me is like a red rag. I get really upset about it.

Yes, the justice system let him go free, but the system has to go by laws and regulations that not always provide justice. If a good lawyer finds loopholes and technical faults with a case the client gets off free. That is fine, there is no other way of doing it. But it still does not mean that the guy was innocent. He was just not convicted using the given system.
