Actress Mollie Sugden dies

Actress Mollie Sugden has died at the age of 86, her agent has said.

The TV star, best known for playing Mrs Slocombe in long-running BBC sitcom Are You Being Served?, died at the Royal Surrey Hospital after a long illness.

Mollie always made me laugh in many comedies over the years. She was not afraid to allow herself to be used as the butt of joke.

Sad to hear this. She and the others from AUBS gave the whole nation (and I am not joking) a lot of joy and happiness in the era of one TV channel, something to talk about at work the very next day after the broadcast.

Seconded ....also see to remember pre AUBS she appeared with Terry Scott and Hugh Lloyd and even earlier with Jimmy Clitheroe on radio (or so my dad says :-)
