My System: Finally have SKY! after years of problems
Its Been a while - Sky now working

A long time a go, when i first joined, i posted some issues i had before i wanted to upgrade from a cheap box to sky.

It turned out i could get less then 1/2 of the channels in my flat. Personally i could get most of what i wanted, the Docs and sky 1 & 2 along with a handful of other channels. A few more people then got sky in my block, then started to complain that they too were having issues. Then a few months later the whole system failed.

It turned out that the sky was never installed correctly, there were only 2 cables going to the multi switch, and a number of other issues.

Over £1,000 later we now have a new system, and can receive all sky channels.

My System: Triax 1.1m and Orbital 80cm Motorised Dishes. Various fixed Dishes. Eclectic selection of Digital and Analogue Receivers. Complex switching and distribution that SWMBO cannot fathom. Nor me.

That's great news!

Enjoy your viewing

Were you compensated in any way for the incompetence of the original Installer?

It was installed several years before i even moved in to the block. I don't know how long it had been like that, however speaking to some of the other residents there were problems 4 or 5 years ago, and people voted not to fix the system.

So sadly no, We had a new dish, lbn, cabling (to multi switch) and a new multi switch, with enough ports for each appartment to have sky+ if they wish to get it installed

prior to this i had almost a year with sky with a few channels, then the year or so before i got it, then a good 10 years at my previous address where they could not pick up a signal.

It just great to beable to watch all thoes programs I missed.

sad thing was i was without any sky for 2 months when the system failed. and yet once i get it back, there are still so many repeats from sky from when it was last working!

Sadly that is par for the course.

The good thing is that i now have far more channels of stuff i haven't seen, so that should give me a few more months of viewing. I also now have the movie channels as well.

Yes there were 6 of us, and everyone gave the go ahead to get it done. It was expensive, however a short while later out aerial also failed. So the whole building ended up with no TV at all.
