Yep,seems so wod, I'm getting nothing on my minidish, however on the 1m I'm getting a seriously weak signal and just getting a piccie on some tps, eg 11642V, but weak.

EDIT,
checked again.

Now seem to be OK at the moment, see if it goes again.

Yeah, well those channels are not on Eurobird1, they are on Astra 2D, so not surprising that they are not affected.

Didn't notice a problem during the week though, but still OK right now.

As Robbo says they're on Astra 2D not on Eurobird.

There have been reports of 2D reception changes in the fringes such the Canaries but not in the UK area.

My System: Satellite: 88cms DiSEqC motorised dish (self-installed) covering 62E - 34.5W; Technomate TM6900HD Super Combo & TM5400 via IF loopthrough

I'm glad to read this because I thought there was a problem with my setup!

I have a motorised 88cms dish down here in Sussex. At about 11PM last night (Saturday 12 September) all the Eurobird 1 channels that I flicked through were missing.

There was a very weak signal from several EB1 transponders, but it was unusable. This morning the EB1 channels were back, but even about an hour ago I was watching the quality bargraph fluctuate wildly between about 58% and 73%

Could it be a problem with the satellite itself or with the uplink station? Could it be weather-related somehow? Doubt it as it's been nice UK-wide this weekend!

Probably due to being on batteries.

This has been reported on DS forum by a member called Strathclyde. He is MD for one of the small channels and his info is normally spot on. I was correct with my depointing analysis
GlobeCast has been in constant contact with Eutelsat, the satellite operator since yesterday evening and Eutelsat has confirmed that the satellite is currently unstable within its orbital position. This is resulting in the fixed uplink antennas being unable to constantly transmit to the satellite accurately causing intermittent loss to all services. GlobeCast are at this time awaiting further information from Eutelsat who are working on resolving the issue as soon as possible and as soon as we have further information, a further update will be provided.

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

That sounds quite serious, is there enough redundancy at that location for channel migration, should the problem not be easily resolved?

One would hope that potentially catastrophic failure modes have been considered as part of the operational plan: but Eutelsat are not exactly over-represented by clearly identifiable craft up there. At least SES-Astra have more shuffle room, which is probably no consolation!

I suppose they could shunt the slightly dodgy W2M over to 28.2e if EB1 does go completely tits up

Lets face it, theres hardly anything of importance thats been broadcast off it at the moment anyway

The channels above are on Eurobird 1 are they not. I was referring to Eutelsat W2M @ 3e having nowt worth watching on it

It was supposed to go to 16e until something went tits up on it while it was being moved to its orbital position. They parked it at 3e and its been there ever since. Its just broadcasting a few free to air channels

It only has one active transponder on the go at the moment

From the little bits of news that have leaked out it appears the battery recharge circuit in W2M blew during In Orbit Testing. If so shes fully operational whilst the solar panels are lit but goes off air during eclipse periods.

I've got loads of spare chargers here, if they're short of a bob or two.
