Massive ITV Digital Bail Out

Are the rats deserting the sinking ship? If you look at http://www.loot.co.uk it would appear the the world and his uncle are selling their ITV Digital boxes.

Is this because of the imminent release of the Pace FTA box, the potential demise of ITV digital, or perhaps the threat of an unhacked encryption system. Whatever the reason, there are a plethora of boxes for sale (Manchester and surrounding areas seem to be a hotbed) and surprisingly still at silly prices, bearing in mind that very few of them can be legitimate.

Regarding things legitimate, there are several NTL Digital boxes being advertised, bearing in mind that these cannot be bought, how can they sold legally? I bet the first calls any of these vendors receive is from ITV Digital or NTL.
