ITV channels

Whilst I was pottering in the garden this afternoon, I was pondering the ITV channels. (Must have been too much sun!) I was wondering what folks favourite ITV service is

We watch loads of ITV3 in the evening for Inspector Morse, A touch of Frost, Poiroit and the Agatha Christie stories. never watch ITV 2 and only ever bother with ITV 1 for the F1

So post away, and let me know what service you like best.

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

I quite like their regional news presentation, better than the BBC in my opinion.

My System: Various digiboxes, broken Nokia 9800S, numerous analogue boxes. My lovely little lappy, HP Omnibook 6100

Tried to think what I watch on ITV1 and couldn't think of anything.

2 minutes later... Yup, just skimmed through the Radio Times and couldn't find anything that I watch at the moment. We'll watch Midsomer Murders when it's on and a few of the one-off plays but regularly - nothing.

Same with the others, nothing on a regular basis - put this as an option and I'll tick it!

ITV 3 is just getting better & better. Really enjoyed Van der Valk last night Shame they started at ep 1 series 4 though.

Makes a nice change from the dreadful reality tv programming infesting the other channels.

I watch Judge Judy and Married With Children on ITV2 and Sherlock Holmes on ITV 3 but overall I don't care of the ITV channels.

Cool

Hi, ITV coverage of F1 is crap, only interested in one man that drives a red car, because he is not doing so well, ha ha ha, they did not even cover the post race interviews with the drivers again today, couple of weeks ago they cut short Buttons interview to show the last 2 laps of that man again trying to catch-up. Judge Judy's great.

Could you add a "Can't get ITV" in there please. Which would be my selection.

Thanks. I've voted. Wish I could get it over here, without going through the hassle of finding a UK address etc, just for the odd footy match and my darling wife would like to see a few ITV progs.

They could go FTA.

The negotiations with Sky have been going on since last November!

Don't hold your breath!

ITV complained to Ofcom who are investigating the charges (£17 last year) for regional encryption.

17 quid! - tight fisted b*st*rds!

Incidently theres speculation on the DS forum that ITV will not only stay encrypted, but send ITV2 and ITV3 into the family pack! No there is NO other info at the moment.

You just pointed something out there, there's no ITV4 option, and the ITV news channel has gone...

Personally, I only watch ITV3 (I think) for Quantum Leap, and that's it...

My System: Pace 2200 Sky digibox with ftv card, Comag SL65 FTA sat receiver, 40cm Sky minidish, Setpal terrestrial receiver (for free uk tv only!).

Oh gotta be 4, for the old Lew Grade/Gerry Anderson stuff (UFO, Space1999, Champions, The Saint, etc......).

ITV 3 is now looking like BBC1, on a 20 year delay loop, a single VCR tape stretching from London to Birmingham would be about right ......

I hardly ever watch ITV1 at all now. Its depressing flicking through all the ITV regions and finding every single one showing the same celebrity or reality obsessed dross. During the last 12 months all Ive watched is the F1 coverage and Border News occasionally. Never bother with ITV2, and just an occasional film on ITV4 Still watching ITV 3 regularly though

My System: Motorised dish, dvd players and recorders; a freeview box, broadband, VCRs, four TVs, mobiles, pcs, a mac, Ipod, digital cameras...the lot!

The old ITV used to make some good stuff, especially Lord Lew Grade's ATV company, which did the totally mad but entertaining THRILLER.

Loads of stuff for which I won't remind you because you're all clued up.

Suffice to say, ITV and the BBC aren't what they were. I rarely watch these channels now, don't really have a favourite of their offspring either, only maybe if they're showing classic shows.

Two Ronnies, Crown Court, Randell and Hopkirk, stuff like that.

The Sleepy Hollow pollracle has spoken!

Since my last post in here, I've found myself not watching TV as much as I used to, mainly as there's very little on that I want to watch these days, and what I do want to watch is on sky/cable (and a tiny, teeny, eeny weeny portion on TUTV, made worse by their scheduling changes for their "Anytime" PVRs... ), which at the moment, I cannot afford. So, it's DVDs, VHS, or just doodling in FlashMX on my laptop...
