Most Spaniards make appointments for sex

A survey in Spain has dispelled the cliche of Latin passion and spontaneity after revealing most Spanish couples schedule sex like appointments with the dentist.

Seventy-seven per cent of Spaniards say they schedule what time of day to rendezvous intimately with their partner, and 52% plan which day of the week, the Spanish Federation of Sexology Societies said.

And the vast majority - 86% - are reasonably or very happy with their sex lives, according to a poll conducted by the federation.

"Iberian machos are a thing of the past, but we have gained ground in terms of tenderness and communication, which are key to satisfactory relations," sexologist Carlos San Martin said.
