My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

Interesting one, but it could also be English (as in the language), American (as in the nationality), I know that they may have local versions of the names, but the other will still be known.

Not sure everywhere they would understand that, but if you couple it with the use of your finger and the ok sign, they should get the message

1. OK
2. TAXI
3. COLA
4. WHISKEY

Bizzarely, you can use all those words in one sentence and have a pretty good night out Overall, I reckon 'OK' wins it.

I'd be very surprised if OK or Taxi would be readily understood by 1 billion Chinese, or half a billion on the Indian sub continent and that is a fair proportion of humanity.

I think to factor-in an entire population/continent might cause problems with this quizzy question. There's a fair percentage of folk in Todmorden that don't know what a taxi is - my mother's one of 'em.

Still, at least we haven't ruled out the Whiskey and Coke yet
