'Fools and horses to get 60s spin-off

Only Fools And Horses is to get a spin-off series featuring a teenage Del Boy.

Once Upon A Time In Peckham will be set in the 60s when the TV favourite was still a schoolboy.

Viewers will see Del as a junior wheeler-dealer bunking off school and flogging dodgy gear to his mates.

Only Fools And Horses creator John Sullivan is working on the script and hopes it will be ready to air next year.

And he hopes David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst, who play the grown-up Del Boy and Rodney, will make cameo appearances.

In the 60s spin-off, Del becomes a Mod while Rodders is just a baby.

A young Grandad will appear and the show will also introduce viewers to parents Joan and Reg - Joan had died by the time the original Only Fools And Horses began in 1981.

Sullivan told the TV Times: "Joanie will be a key character and during the film will give birth to Rodney. We'll also see Grandad as a much younger man."

He added: "I'm having a lot of fun writing it because it's set in the same period as when I was growing up."

TV bosses will soon be casting around for a young star to play Del Boy.

The last ever episode of Only Fools And Horses will be screened this Christmas.
