Doctor Who

As the cult series prepares to celebrate its 40th anniversary, Doctor Who starts a new six-part adventure on BBCi - the BBC's Internet service.

The animated series, The Scream Of The Shalka, features the voice of Richard E Grant as the Doctor, with Derek Jacobi, Sophie Okonedo and Diana Quick.

The six-part drama, animated by Cosgrove Hall will be posted on BBCi at lunchtime on Thursdays, starting on November 13.

The script is by established television writer Paul Cornell, who has worked on BBC series including Casualty and has written a number of science fiction novels.

BBCi's Martin Trickey said: "We are delighted to be able to bring another fantastic series of Doctor Who to a whole new generation of people. Broadcasting the series via the BBCi website means that people can watch whenever they want to, so they'll never have to miss a minute."
