Ebay & SKY & Not a lot of dosh.

Hi all,

See my signature.

When my second packed-up - I thought to myself, what a great opportunity to wangle a cheap/free SKY+ from my mate (the one who supplied me with my Panny replacement (the cheek of it, hehe). Well, the SKY+ is in a cupboard and now he's raving about FreeView and how cheap it is (sic) and the fact that his three new LCD TV's have DVB-T tuners?? That's right, I did say three (he's just moved house).

Well, I coughed-up the courage and asked and he kind of got cold feet. Mind, that might be to do with the trauma of him sending that replacement to me. It ended up in (Berlin) GREECE and he nearly had to pay again for re-posting it to the real Berlin! Its not the kind of thing a time-starved TV Director has much lust for (talking to Post Office workers that is). Read: snob.

Feeling the hesitation, I got to looking on Fleabay for a standard SKY digibox. I have just about enough money in my english bank for a reasonable purchase. Anyway, there is a company based in Surrey that is flogging new Pace's (the new smaller silvery ones) for little under GBP90.00 (inkl. FTV card).

Given that SKY offer the same plus a dish and install for GBP150.00 - I am just wondering if I will be lucky to find this unit cheaper.

Any advise welcomed; especially shopping on Fleabay (terrifies me ).

Thanks in advance.

Just found the Ebay link again, hehe.

.
