My System: Sky+ Pace v3, and before that analouge 80cm dish with Prima by Pace box pointed at 19.2e (not very imaginative then!)

Surely it has to be... The Darkness.

What a load of crap they are, and continue to be. And what's worse is that they take themselves seriously.

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

I agree about The Darkness, the singer has a voice capable of etching glass and reminds me a little of Tiny Tim if he'd been a member of Sweet.

I mean, come on, just look at Hawkins. You might just have got away with years ago, but now? Jog on mate!

Another terrible 'band' was Daphne & Celeste, who I think we could all willingly smack around the head with a cricket bat.

Clearly a rip off, but they're counting on those of us who were there to be too old to realise now.

Rip off of whom? The only thing that could be construed as copying is Ron Mael who clearly is the satanic child of Adolph Hitler and Charlie Chaplin.

Sparks still going strong. Ron Mael looks more like potty film director John Waters nowadays

Here's another nomination - Take That

Alright, their songs have stood the test of time up to now, but they are cheese, pure farmhouse cheddar.

They are at the moment, they ahve been touring.

But they are not really a band, as they don't play any istruments as far as I know.

Well they are a boyband, so surely they count? Besides, I'd much rather give worst band ever to a boy band then a proper band any.

Yes, Take That can be added: only because rolf thinks they shouldn't.

After all these posts ........... we must be on at least 7 bands by now (if I could keep myself awake, I would say thanks).

But, is it really going to take so long to get to 100? LOL.

Muhuhuhahahahahaaaaarrrgggh

As it is one man (or woman) one vote I can't act out my plan and nominate every band that participated in the Eurovision other than Abba (still don't like them but they ain't that bad). It is a really tough one, the choice is endless. Hours and hours of meaningless dross on the radio every day, and this is going on for 40 odd years...will come back with a name soon.

The thing with Eurovision bands is that they come and go. Really bad bands are infamous for being bad, and stay (horribly) in the memory.

Well, I wouldn't let you have one.

The Beatles - worst band of all time, no. Worst showbiz breakup in recent times, perhaps.

To date: 368 visits to the thread - 40 odd posts - 11 submissions.

Jeez, this is painful.

PS could a mod/admin edit my starter post and remove the 'entries so far' list, thanks. I will do this inline.

----------------------------------------------------
YOUR ENTRIES SO FAR
----------------------------------------------------

1. Europe
Reason: enough.

2. Linkin Park
Make you feel suicidal.

3. Whitesnake
Saw them once at Wembley Arena (I was invited by somebody that had a spare ticket - now I know why.) Contrived pap.

4. Marilyn Manson
Just look at a picture of, erm, "it", 'nuff said!!!.

5. The Smiths
A pile of pretentious depressing Pooh.

6. Rod Stewart and the Faces*
Ruined when the lead singer left (Stevie Marriot) and a second rate pub singer brought in.

7. Slipknot
More intent on violence and shock tactics than making good music.

8. Toto Coelo (don't ask - makes up the numbers)*.
Sang about eating cannibals. Pretty awful stuff.

9. The Darkness
A load of crap.

10. Take That
Their songs have stood the test of time, but they are cheese: pure farmhouse cheddar.

11. Lordi
So everyone knows Bronks watches Eurovision.

* Bands may be disputed. Fighting begins when a 100 submissions are in.

It would be easier to steal somebody else's list and just make a poll, LOL. We'll be here until Bush jnr jnr get's elected.

Mind, it IS an awful band. Somebody please buy him some reverb,

The way he moves reminds me of a caged and distressed zoo animal. Uuuumm.

IMHO - this band don't count. There are a gazillion other 'so-called' contracted and professional bands just as bad.

Thats what we are after me thinks.

[god, me ears hurt ]
