Ariane 501 was the biggest firework I've seen

The loss of Ariane V501 (the Cluster mission) was a damp squib compared to the Challenger explosion

Meanwhile half way round the world, the Chinese botched the launch of Intelsat 708 on Feb 15th 1996, and the rocket landed on a village causing an unknown number of fatalities. Cant find any video of the launch but heres a still
