The Archdiocese of Miami has asked any possible victims of inappropriate behaviour or abuse by a Gozitan priest to come forward or contact a law enforcement agency.
Fr Anthony Mercieca, 72, was named by the Palm Beach State Attorney's Office as former Congressman Mark Foley's alleged abuser.

Foley, a 52-year-old Florida Republican, resigned from Congress last month after the release of his sexually explicit computer messages to young male pages.

Well we'll have to wait and see what comes out of the woodwork, it's pretty well documented now that most abusing priests have simply been moved to other states/counties/towns, in an effort to sweep it all under the carpet. If this is the worst this guy has done, then he is like a lamb compared to many of the ones still in the system, and still under the protection of their superiors.

A lamb indeed. Have known the old chap for years. Here we tend to frequent the same watering holes. Most mornings we have our cappucino at the same haunt, share a table al fresco. Many times Billy Connolly (tea face) or Anne Monserrat will join us. Now this small island seems to be in limbo

One wonders what the ex Congressman hopes to achieve out of this mess. Money would be my guess
